Parents need to introduce themselves to their infants (Patch 1.110.265)

When the babies become infants, the parents cannot interact with the infant and must be introduced to their own infant by a babysitter. Edit By Crinrict: Adjusted Title to fit old bug report

My Sims couple just celebrated the birthday of their baby who became an infant. However, I am unable to interact with him. I have no function to pick him up, feed him, put him to bed, etc. I have no affecting mod and I started a game without mod to see where it came from. The infants created in the gallery work but not those born in the game. I can interact with toddlers, children, etc. But not the infants born to my Sims.
