I have the same issue but found a kind of workaround for me.
I' ve used the flat square -> Then placed a roof -> Then added a roof trim and leveled the floor up.
As I said it's only a workaround and I am not sure whether it is feasible everywhere.
Hey Scorpio1959 Thanks for the steps! This workaround does seem to work at first. However, as soon as you make any other changes nearby involving another roof piece—even if it's unrelated to this section—the glitch appears again.
Thank you for this infos. That's I was a little afraid of, because I repaired only two of my houses where it worked but I must admit I didn't test all my houses that might be affected by this.
