I have had this issue for a long time now.
The interaction to potty train a toddler will -most of the time- fail if the sim initiation it is not the toddler.
If I have the toddler ask for potty training it works, but if the adult does it, they stare into space and the interaction drops from the queue. It is not a reset or t-pose thing, they just refuse to do it like I didn't even direct them to after a few seconds of just nothing happening.
At some point they can potty train, but not in the beginning. I don't know if it is about the toddler needing to have gained some skill already, and then it will work. Or if it is toddler trait related (I know independent toddlers can use the potty by themselves right away, that is not my issue).
Or if the issue is the different potties themselves. I have not narrowed it down because I don't have that many toddlers, and sometimes it works, and when it does not, after a while it will work... Or I just initiate the interaction from the toddler from there.
I have a charmer toddler now that could not be potty trained by their parent if I initiated the interaction for the adult side (now they can). If the trait is related I will check this with the next toddler.
It does not happen in all families but most, and if not that then I get the pop-up for the strict dynamic instead. Or both, so the potty training interaction (initiated by the parent/ adult) drop, and the strict notification pop-up. (This bug report is not for that strict dynamic though, just wanted to highlight that the game works -asking about dynamic- it just does not complete the interaction leading up to it.)
I don't know if this is just something I'm experiencing or if others are as well, but it is frustrating.
