Reappearing Newbie quests

My save file is very old, and yet, since the new update (with buglars and stuff) I keep getting the quest that starts when a sim is new.  =  go to a public place - meet someone, meet one more - go home  -  get a potion.  I have tried doing the quest, several times but it somehow never seems to remember that I did it and the same sim can get til lots of times. Many potions, could be fun for a while, but it gets tiresome. It doesn't go away.  Maybe it is a minor bug, but still it is bugging me.
