I had an issue like this too! I have a teen sim who still gets buffs from his "Silly" toddler trait. He aged up naturally and I didn't change anything in CAS. I also had a sim that had the "Practice makes perfect" trait and I was trying to do the creative aspiration with her, she was ALWAYS focused and I tried to remove the trait, but into adult hood she still gets buffs from it that clearly say they're from that trait. (She doesn't have it)

How long ago did they age up ? After the patch before this one ?
How did you remove the practice makes perfect trait ? With the traits remove cheat or in CAS ?
The sims aged up naturally from a toddler to a child then to a teen. He still regularly gets buffs that say they’re from the silly trait. I didn’t change any of his in CAS. I don’t know regarding the patch.
regarding the practice makes perfect one, I removed it in CAS. I did see that it’s apparently intentional so I’ll take the time to type it instead.
try cheat removing the trait.
Make sure the Sim is selected then open the cheat bar and type: traits.remove_trait Toddler_Silly
It's really hard to tell if the bug behind these were solved or not and if it's just a legacy issue. If you continue to have the issue with new Sims that age up, please create a new thread for it.
