Repetitive Wants

I'm having an issue with extremely repetitive wants. My young adult sim wants to Have a Child, Volunteer with Family, Donate to Charity, Listen to _____ music, make non-household sim happy, and occasionally have a want to interact with a specific sim that isn't anywhere on the lot. I think only twice has she had a desire to gain a promotion. I haven't seen anything job or skill related since she had children. While on a date, there were zero romantic wants popping up. She wanted to order a drink, listen to music, then back to wanting to volunteer or make someone happy or solve hard problems. 

My child sim has Win a Competitive Game (it's there no matter what, every day) since she first aged up. She's managed to win that one once, it was replaced with becoming friends with a specific sim, then as soon as she did that she wanted to win a game again. On rotation for her are listening to a variety of music. Never anything to do with skills or completing homework, etc. Most of the time the ONLY want she has is to win a competitive game. 
Gaining satisfaction points has been incredibly slow because of this. I haven't had a skill related want for either of them since the first few in-game days. She hasn't wanted to mentor a child since she had a child of her own. That was also another annoying one when all of her skills were low. 

No mods or cc installed. I've repaired the game multiple times to fix other issues (mostly infant related) but this one has persisted since I started playing again a few days ago. Sim lifespan is set to long, and my YA sim has 47 days until age up.
