When creating a dynasty, It's not possible to add distant family. My king/queen needs to be friends with every single person in the family tree, even the infants and toddlers to add them. My legacy is 25 vampires, my king can't be friends with all of them to add them . This must be a bug.

you cant not invite non sibling in-laws to the Dynasty which is so dumb i just tested it with no mods or cc on pc steam 3 person household tried made a Dynasty non sibling in-law did not show up at all this was done is cas on a new save file
I noticed I couldn't add distant relations when I tried to have Cordelia invite the Laurent family to join the Thebe dynasty.
Arnessa Thebe, Hector, Greta & Jace Laurent didn't even show up in the menu as sims she'd need to befriend first - they just weren't there. They show as distant relatives in the family tree, but not in the relationship tab or profile.
Cordelia WAS friends with them, so not quite OP's issue, but this fits the report title.
I have this problem as well. I have tried with mods & without. Im also on PC.
In theory I should be able to add them. The dynasty head is a few generations above the ones I'm trying to add as they are 2 different branches of the same tree.
I have this issue as well. My family tree is huge, but distant relatives don't even show up, and others I can't even add even though they show up.
My Sim adopted her toddler nephew as caregiver (he is an orphan) and wants to add him to her dynasty. But she can not add him, he (and nobody else) does not show up as an option.
Am I doing something wrong or is this a bug?
I am playing on PC, newest update with the new Royalty pack. Edit: No mods used in this game, but where used before.
I am annoyed that to set up not only my dynasty, I need to go to other families (this is fine), but also find their relatives, find them in the world (or cheat to bging them to the lot) to cheat their relationships,... I don't think it's a fun gameplay, it should be possible to turn off in settings.
Another annoying game design is that kids with both parents in one dynasty don't get automatically to the same dynasty! So each generation I need to go around the world and manually add them back...
