[RL] Sims showing up to grand balls in random outfits

Yes I saw this too, they're supposed to show up in formal when you don't select any options for dress code.

Probably should add pack tags for royalty and legacy and life and death if it also affects funeral events. 

I left dress code unset for a grand ball expecting the guests to default to formal outfits the way my sim did, but instead they had classic sim townie mis-matched casual. Even the pre-made townies were wearing crazy outfits rather than anything set for them - even their everyday outfits would have been more appropriate!

How do I do that? Or is that a moderator thing

This happened to me, as well! I thought they would show up in their formalwear, but they just wore random ridiculous outfits and ruined the ball.

But even worse than that, I checked the box for everyone to wear masks, and nobody did! Holding masquerade balls - both the formal attire and especially the masks - was something I was really looking forward to. The fact that neither aspect of that works is so disappointing

The Grand Ball is a centerpiece feature in the trailer and one of the main reasons I just bought this pack. But in my game, too, guests show up in completely random, absurd outfits that destroy the elegant ball atmosphere. I’ve watched multiple Grand Ball reviews/gameplay videos and noticed the same issue there as well. This happens whether I set a dress code or leave it unset – either way, sims don’t wear their assigned formal outfits. I tried every dress code option one by one, expecting at least that sims would wear their assigned formal outfits, but nothing works. Guests still spawn in randomly generated clothing, so the event feels broken and disappointing.

Also, it’s not just about letting guests use their assigned formal outfits – the dress code options themselves (all four variations, including the mask option) still generate awful, random-looking outfits. What’s the point of having multiple dress code settings if they all result in chaotic, immersion-breaking looks?

I have the same problem! Never had mods or CC installed. All preset dress codes makes Sim show up in ugly, mismatched clothing instead of formal wear. It looks so awkward. I want to host an appropriate grand ball for Cinderella…

Same! I wanted to throw the very first Grand Ball for my newly minted Sultan and the random outfits were so awful, I canceled the ball. 

I think the issue was solved for funerals.

The issue comes from a forgotten part in the job_Guest_Ballroom tuning :

If you compare it with the funeral one : there is a copy_category_override that copies the existing outfit for the category.

Fixing that part seems to solve the issue. But still no masks, even when the option is selected.
