I tend to use the Social Bunny from High School Years expansion pack to maintain friendship and romance.
I do the same with Social Bunny, but unfortunately, this doesn't help with rotational play. Romantic satisfaction tanks when you are not playing with a couple. You go back to them after playing a different household for a week, and they are sad and unsatisfied with one another.
