[RWK] Appliances place unbroken

I purchased the Restoration Workshop Kit today and attempted to explore the appliance repair gameplay, however when I place the appliance it appears unbroken. My sim cannot interact with it AT ALL, neither to repair it or to cook with it. its essentially just a weird piece of decor because I cannot interact with it.

I tried rebooting my game, starting a new save file, maxing out my sim's handiness skill, locating every version of the appliance using the show hidden objects cheat; nothing works.

I'm playing on PC through the EA app. NO MODS. I have the following dlc expansions and installed: Vintage Glamour, Tiny Living, Snowy Escape, Seasons, Romantic Garden Stuff, Parenthood, Paranormal Stuff Pack, Nifty Knitting Stuff Pack, Movie Hangout Stuff, Laundry Day Stuff, Island Living, Holiday Celebration, Growing Together, Businesses and Hobbies, Dream Home Decorator, Discover University, Cottage Living, City Living, Cats & Dogs, Backyard Stuff,

(In-game content): Life of the Party digital content, Up All Night Digital Content, Set Up Shop Digital Content, Outdoor Playtime Digital Content

Marketplace Kits (just purchased today): Greenhouse Haven, Kitchen Clutter, Restoration Workshop

    Could you please provide the following information

    • Did you never have mods/cc or remove them ? Please pick a thread tag for that.

    I have never had mods on this computer, years ago I tried out some mods but they were too much for my dinosaur of a pc at the time so I carefully deleted them all and haven’t played those save files in years either. Now I am too afraid to download mods or cc, so my current computer and save files are pure vanilla

    Just bought the kit from the marketplace and having the same issue. I assume they should brake once placed in game, but mine never does that. Once placed I can't change the swatch anymore, so feels like it should be the right one? I can locate the "cheat" versions with showhiddenobjects and can cook with the stove, but would be nice to have the game play to restore them...

    Hm, wondering if this is the same as some others have been reporting for other kits bough through the marketplace.

    Could you both try reinstalling the pack ? 

    1. To to Marketplace
    2. Choose My Collection
    3. Choose Manager Storage
    4. Choose Kits
    5. tick the pack and then click uninstall
    6. Restart the game
    7. Do the same and install it again
    8. Restart the game
    9. Start your save and check

    Hello,

    If any of you are still encountering this on the latest game version could you share your App Data folder, as well as your Electronic Arts folder?

    For PC, you can find this under: User > [Username] > AppData > Local > TS4
    For Mac, you can find this here: Macintosh HD > Users > [Username] > Library > Application Support > TS4

    For your Electronic Arts folder, you can find that under Documents-> Electronic Arts.

    Did you send the folder to EA yet ?

    Really not sure what's going on but to me sounds like an installation issue (there's a few similar reports for other kits)

    I did. Hopefully they’ll be able to find the cause. At least the rest of the game is playable in the meantime :)
