Sims can’t become soulmates

How much did you lower their relationship status down by? Did you try setting it to zero, running the game for a few minutes to see if the relationship status updated, and then set it back up to max?

I tried putting it down to zero then back up to 100, down to 50 then back up to 100. I even tried putting it to -100 in case that would do anything and back up to 100.

How long did you wait in between each change to let the game have time to register the changes?

I’m not sure honestly, not very long. Could that have been the issue? The husband just died in my game so I can’t test it out again.

Same here, also tried same workarounds to no success 

I reduced relationship by -60 for romance and waited at least 3 minutes with game running before bringing it back to 100 through in game interactions but it didn’t work at all. Do you need to reduce both friendships and romance or will just one do? Cheat codes are long when you’re playing without a keyboard! I have also tried reducing friendship by -50 to no results but probably only waited a minute before restoring the relationship. 

this has been an issue for me. What’s the resolution? It’s extremely frustrating 

I am not using mods. Why aren’t my sims achieving soulmate status? It’s been months. They’re stuck at lovers. I shouldn’t have to start their relationship over. And I don’t want to. What’s the resolution?  

They are married and have two children together. The option to propose is not available. Because they are married...But their relationship status shows only as "best friends."
