This, and also applies to brushing cows - the cow disappears, presumably teleporting into the shed, and the sim is standing there by herself with her arms in anatomically impossible places brushing thin air.
I thought the weird hug was part of that bug that also had "play with toddler" the toddler would stand on the floor watching as the adult danced and contorted with their arms actually passing through their body .. but I haven't seen the toddler play animation bug in quite a while, so I think it's been fixed, but the weird hugging and the weird cow brushing are current as of March 2025.
