Sims keep stopping/cancelling out their actions to do other things

I get this bug in a form that my sim keep cancelling things when I say they need to do other things. For instance stop eating if I have first said to them to eat and then take a shower after. My sim will drop their food and then go take a shower. But also cancel action when I switch between sims. So if I do something with my child sim I go back to the parent who I know should do something only to find out that they have not done said thing but just stood there waiting for something to occure. I play on PC and no mods or cc in my game.
