Sims keep stopping/cancelling out their actions to do other things

My Sims will no longer perform actions unless I either instruct them to do so multiple times or keep the selected Sim selected until the action is completed since the update released on June 1, 2025 ...

Ah, I thought this was part of the rubbish bug.. Because for the life of me I couldn't get them to throw the rubbish away or clean up! Just piles of rubbish everywhere. But yes, in fact, other actions like:
- Cooking
- Playing with child/toddler at dollhouse
- Reading
- Cleaning up (as mentioned)
