Sims will not put away food items

does this occur in multiple saves or just a specific one ? Did you test multiple households ?

What scenario are you playing ? Does it happen on households without scenario too ?

I have the same problem. Multiple households, not playing a scenario. Different fridges. Attempted with different sims. They just give you the wavy arm ‘blocked’ signal and put the plate back down. Can use all other elements of fridge without issue.

It's just the one household. I tried putting the fridge in another location, using a different type, repairing my game. I even completely bulldozed my lot and replaced the house.

I am not playing with scenarios. I just bought the new EP and made part of my house a small business. The other households I play do not have a small business. 

This happened to me last Fall and it was caused by a grocery delivery bag hiding on the lot where I didn't see it. Have y'all had any grocery deliveries where you thought they didn't show up?

That's what happened to me and then I found the bag hidden behind a shrubbery. Once I found it and unloaded it, everything went back to normal.

I can't remember where I got the tip about delivery bags bugging out putting things in the fridge, possibly Reddit or from an old bug thread on Answers HQ. 

One last thing to add: I also tried bulldozing and replacing originally, but that didn't help, because in my case the version of the lot I had saved evidently contained the bugged bag. I even tried putting the lot in a new save, before I figured out what was happening. I haven't had a single problem since with the lot in question.

It's possible that the same problem might happen just having one of the delivery bags from Debug as a decor object on the lot.

OK. so it's not that the interaction doesn't appear but rather that it just fails ?

Update: I did find a debug item on my lot but that wasn't the cause of the issue. I just deleted every item in the kitchen and replace the items and now the interaction no longer fails.

This was happening to me, and I couldn't understand why my sims were unable to put food away in the fridge by clicking on the food and choosing "put away". They kept displaying the unable to route icon, even though nothing was blocking the fridge. And it was across multiple households.

manzana0807's reply helped - I played the Bro household and the Villareal household recently and they couldn't put food away in the fridge. I happened to notice while panning around the island that there was an unopened grocery delivery bag on the ground by the docks outside the Bjergsen house - possibly from an interrupted or failed grocery delivery.

After getting rid of the bag, I tried having my sims put food away in the fridge and it worked. So all this time an unopened grocery bag on the island in the open world I never noticed was causing issues for the households living there.
