I noticed this with the glass doors from B&H, the medium industrial looking ones, had to make a hole in the roof for the sunlight to shine through.
edit: The proper shadows showed before adding a ceiling/roof, but as soon as room had ceiling the shadows and sunlight went away, making a hole in the roof solved it.

I've looked at this a bit further, as the door does actually let sunlight through when opened, or placed on a diagonal wall.
The issue appears to be caused by the 'PhongGlass' meshes of the flat wall version of the door being incorrectly tagged as shadow casters.
