Since downloading the latest update, the game doesn't recognize the upgrade parts my sim has in his inventory and is refusing to let him upgrade anything because he "doesn't have the parts," even though he does.
I'm playing on Mac, if that makes a difference! I have some expansion packs but no mods or cc.
I did not see this issue addressed in any of the currently active bug reports, but apologies if I've missed something! There is a slightly different bug report I noticed, also on Mac, here: Upgrade parts/ingredients not recognized to upgrade/create something | EA Forums - 13291453 . It's different for me, though, because this is happening regardless of where my sim got his upgrade parts.
Bit unsure why it's different than that thread. What do you mean by it's happening regardless of where the Sim got the upgrade part ?
That thread is for anything where parts/ingredients you have (no matter from where) aren't recognized to create/upgrade.

The initial comment in the other forum says "This only happens when I purchase the items, which is how I get most of my upgrade parts and all of my dyes. If my sim obtains the parts through actions like tinkering at the robotics station or receiving a part from repairing an object, then the game recognises that the sim has the part in their inventory."
That's not true for me -- it happens with items my sim has gotten from rummaging in piles of trash, not just through purchasing.- crinrict17 days agoHero+
OK. Should still be the same but your comment is appreciated.

Ah, got it! No worries. Should I post something on that thread instead?
