I’m experiencing an issue in Live Mode where interactions become temporarily unresponsive. When I select a Sim or an object, the interaction menu appears as normal. I can move through the available options, but I can’t actually select any of them. After a few seconds, the game starts responding again, but the issue keeps happening throughout gameplay. This happens repeatedly and is making the game difficult to play. I also play on Xbox.
Hey Jenzonfn,
Sorry to hear that the interactions menu is unresponsive for a bit before working again. If you haven't already, can you try power cycling your console and making sure your game and console are both up to date to see if there's any improvement?
Is this occurring exclusively with the interaction menu, or are you noticing similar controller-related issues (such as certain selection buttons not working) throughout your gameplay, like with the following bug: [XB/PS] Controls not responding?

HelloEA_mplsnow,
This is occurring exclusively with the interaction menu.

I am experiencing the same problems as this player. I tried restarting the console by unplugging it from the power outlet for several minutes, but the problem persists.

Can't speak for OP, but I'm on Xbox.
Power cycling the console, clearing the game cache etc does nothing to fix this issue. The joysticks still work, but no other buttons: can't use B to cancel, can't use A to select, can't use the menu button to pull up the menu, can't use triggers or bumpers, the list goes on. This isn't exclusive to CAS either, it's happening in live and build modes too.

What if that doesn't work? Why do all these bugs keep happening? Sims4 have more issues than progress at this point.

I have tried every form of troubleshooting I could. For me, it's the keypad used to toggle between floors/walls up or down, as well as "X" and "O" on the PS5. Everything is up to date.

Also this comment being 2 weeks ago and it's STILL not fixed is wild.

I’m having the same problem and I’ve tried power cycling the console several times and within 24 hours within the game it crashes again. Left analog stick is moving and allowing me to make choices but the right side of the controller doesn’t seem to work to confirm them. It tends to be when interacting with objects such as mopping up puddles or when trying to create events like parties.

I tried troubleshooting a bunch of things on the Xbox itself, but it “crashes” (while things are still moving in the background) but once a pop up or menu is entered, none of the controls are responsive. I need to hard reset every time. I went through a list that AI suggested, and a new sim in a new build on an empty lot still works and saves as usual. Trouble is, I’ve been playing since 2018, and I don’t want to rehome all 200 of my sims. The freezing only happens in older/generational builds.
