Playing "A Way Out" on steam deck "Connection failed" error
I've been looking everywhere on how to fix this. I was able to play in Steam Deck since November, but when I updated my OS 3weeks ago, I can't see my friends list anymore whenever I open the ea app dialog for invitation. It just says "Connection Failed. We couldn't connect you to your online friend". Please help.
[A way out] Time it with the thunder bug
In the part where Leo and Vincent need to hit a door at the same time a thunder strikes there's a bug that doesnt allow progression. When the thunder hits, both me and my friend press the button that appears on screen (X) but nothing happens, no matter if one of us or both press it, after the thunder passes either Leo or Vincent hit the door, but alerting the guards. This is not a matter of timing as we've tried everything for hours, they never hit the door together thus making progress impossible. We're playing locally on steam using nintendo switch controllers (joy cons)
A way out crashes at startup
Hi all. My game consistently crashes on my new laptop, the game crashes after the opening CG and a error message pop out, I have tried all solutions I can find by now, including create a new system variable OPENSSL_ia32cap, update the graphic card driver to 572.42 but the issue remains. I wonder how can I fix the problem, any suggestion is appreciated ! A Way Out not loading and giving an error message
I had bought A Way Out a while back to play with a friend, and we got about halfway through the game (great game btw) before I suddenly wasn't able to launch the game. I bought the game through steam, created an account and installed the EA app because it was required for the game, and it worked perfectly for a while. Now for the past 5-6 months every time I try to play the game it redirects me to the EA app with the error message "Failed to launch A Way Out. An Incompatible version of the game is installed on this device. Uninstall the steam version to play". I tried this, and obviously it didn't work, as steam is where I had the game bought and installed, and the EA app required me to have it installed on steam to launch. In my library in the EA app the game Icon is grey, and I can't interact with it, and it also says that I need to uninstall the version of A Way Out that I have, except I had uninstalled it from the EA app. A main problem that I think is causing this is because of Xbox Gamepass. I originally installed the game through a free trial of Game Pass that I had, but I bought the game on steam while it was on sale before my free trial ended. I had uninstalled all files for A Way Out that I had before buying it on steam. The game worked fine for a bit, but the second that my Xbox Gamepass subscription ended I could no longer launch the game, and EA help hasn't been able to fix it either. I am annoyed because I essentially wasted my money, and on top of that I am pretty sure that I will never be able to play this game because it is giving me errors on files that don't exist. Unless I waste more money, which I am not gonna do. At this point I should've got DS3, because if I paid to go through insufferable frustration, it might as well be fun. If anyone knows any possible solutions, please share them, because I have seen so many cases of this on these forums and nothing I've tried has worked.A Way Out - How to play when one person is using a Steamdeck and the other a PC?
Hey My friend and I tried to play A Way Out, with my friend using a Steamdeck and I using my laptop. We both own full copies of the game in case that makes a difference. If he booted the game on his steam deck, I could not see him on my EA origin account as being online so I could not invite him to play. We tried having him log into EA origins on his laptop so he was showing as online so I could invite him but the invite on his steam deck never showed. He tried to invite me but wasn't showing a 'online' on his steamdeck and you can't be signed in on two devices at once, which is why he would sign in on his laptop, then I would invite him and he would click accept, then EA origins would transfer to him being online on his steam deck. We did use this method when we were playing It Takes Two, before they allowed you to invite through steam and it was always a little hit and miss but eventually worked. However, this was not working at all with A Way Out. There has to be a easier way. How does my friend get EA to work on his steamdeck? How can I send a invite to him? Should he try and invite me instead? It's extremely frustrating to buy a game and then have all these issues, especially when you buy the game through Steam, who have a perfectly working system for playing multiplayer. As soon as It Takes Two went to allowing Steam invites, we never had any issues. Please help. I am not a computer wizz, I will need step by step instructions for either my laptop or his steam deck to pass onwards. Thanks
