Authentic Gameplay - Online Friendlies
Dear EA team, could you please make it possible to use the truly good "authentic gameplay" at least online in friendly matches? The "competitive mode" is simply too fast and there are far too many goals. We are an online community that values realism and not scoring as many goals as possible. Please can something be done about players quitting the game when they're losing and the opponent does not get the win. I play online Seasons and almost every game the opponent quits when I am in a winning position. They either wait till 80+ minutes to quit or if they're losing by a big scoreline, they will quit the game immediately and I will not get the win nor will there be a record to show I played that opponent. Sometimes they will cheat by pausing the game, do something to quit and a message will show "you have lost connection to your opponent..." Sometimes the disconnection will be immediately after you score (almost instantly) and you will not get the win and there will be no record of that game. And finally, they also cheat by stop playing after you score. The game will restart from the centre circle and the opponent will not move at all, then after approximately a minute you will lose connection to your opponent and not get the win etc. The level of frustration this causes when people are doing it almost every game is immense and I will not play online Seasons anymore until this issue is fixed. First off, I’m really enjoying FC 26 so far. I play Manager Career Mode and I think this year’s installment is one of the strongest in the past 3–4 years. Gameplay feels solid on Authentic and Ultimate difficulty—maybe a bit too easy at times—but with some slider adjustments, it really feels good to play. That said, I’ve noticed a few issues that I think could be addressed to improve realism and immersion: CPU aggression and lack of fouls/injuries CPU teams rarely commit fouls, even with aggression and injury sliders maxed out. This leads to: - Very few free kicks or penalties (unless handballs are on). - Almost no injuries, which affects squad rotation and realism. - A noticeable imbalance where I commit more fouls than the CPU, especially when playing aggressively. It would be great to see more contextual fouls, physical duels, and injury variety—especially in longer Career Mode saves. Contract negotiation logic It seems players only want to negotiate contracts in the final year. That’s frustrating and unrealistic. It would be more immersive if: - Players were open to talks with 2 years left. - They initiated negotiations based on form, role, or wage expectations. - There was more dynamic interaction—e.g., players requesting extensions or pay bumps. This would add depth to squad management and make Career Mode feel more alive. These tweaks could make a huge difference for those of us who play long-term saves and prioritize realism. EA I love football games and was really excited about getting this for my Switch 2. While I appreciate the effort you have put into the visuals, I like many thought this would have 60fps. Surely if a pS4 , as old as that is can handle it a Switch 2 should be fine. This feels a very rushed release. I hope you address the elephant in the room and fix /make improvements to the frame rate so Nintendo Switch 2 players get a smoother experience (which they deserve). It shouldn’t be the same frame rate as the original Switch. Nintendo players are desperate for this. This is partial feedback, but it's absolutely essential for a more realistic reproduction of football. Realistic gameplay finally offers a more measured and, in some ways, tactical pace, with a more active CPU in defense and proactive in attack. Unfortunately, we must highlight a longstanding issue with the series: fouls committed by the CPU. In the past, additions have led to some tackles from behind, resulting in red cards, that were completely unrelated to the dynamics of real football. Even the new cursor, introduced with FC25, hasn't been able to faithfully replicate what happens on a pitch: hard tackles in midfield (not sliding tackles from behind) and fouls on the edge of the penalty area, which greatly influence the outcome of real matches. This, for me, is currently a major gap in realistic gameplay against the CPU. On average, in a UEFA Champions League match, there are between 8 and 15 fouls per game. As many others have already suggested in the EA Forum, the positioning of the fullbacks when in possession does not work as it should. This is about EA FC 26 Version 1.1.0 on PC. What does not work, exactly? It is the player roles, especially the positioning of the fullbacks when attacking. The only role, that alters their behavior in a meaningful way is the Falseback role, which makes them tuck into defensive midfield (as they should). For all other roles, they stay back most of the time, only advancing at rare occasions. They even do this on the attacking wingback role, which should actually be their most aggressive role. They should advance and provide attacking width to the team, which is especially needed in narrow formations (like the 4-1-2-1-2 (2)) or in systems with 5 defenders. Have a look at the attached Screenshots: Attacking Wingbacks on Attack should push forward much more aggressively and provide attacking width in this situation. However, they sit back and are far too cautious. Same as 1. Both Fullbacks are Attacking Wingbacks on Attack; The rightback pushes forward as intended, but the leftback falls back and forms a back three, although a centerback already drops back to secure the defense. The Left Attacking Wingback on Attack forms a back three, although I have the ball close to the opposition box. Both Fullbacks are Inverted Wingbacks on Attack, but there is a huge gap in Midfield, as the Rightback drops into a back three again. Inverted Fullbacks on Attack should operate in the marked area of the pitch, but again, they are retreating. Fullbacks on Versatile; They stay back as a complete back four, which is a bit cautious for the role as well, but it at least makes some sense for this role - although a 4v2 in defense is not really needed in this instance. Wingbacks on support should provide width in Attack, but they stay back and do not push forward, although I am playing around the opposition box. I am an active eSports player in TEFL, VPG, and EML leagues, and I live with a 92% disability (I play using a gamepad without being able to use my fingers). For me, accessibility is not a luxury – it is the only way I can actually play. For the past three years, I have been playing as a goalkeeper in Clubs. I had built strong muscle memory with the previous control scheme. However, with FC 26, the new goalkeeper controls: Removed the old “Triangle / Y” based automatic reflex & timed rush-out behavior. Changed right analog reflex input, which now makes the goalkeeper walk uncontrollably instead of reacting instantly. Eliminated auto reflex assistance, meaning I now need to give a precise manual input right after the shot, which is physically almost impossible for me. As a result, I am currently unable to play the game as a goalkeeper. 🔎 My Questions Legacy GK Controls: Could the old goalkeeper control scheme be brought back as an optional setting? Reflex Assist Toggle: Will there be an option to enable/disable auto reflex assists for accessibility purposes? Button Remapping / Alternative Scheme: Are there any plans to provide alternative control mappings specifically for goalkeepers with accessibility needs? Community Feedback Response: Many players globally are reporting the same issues I am describing. How is EA planning to respond to this shared feedback? For me, this is not just about a different play style – it creates an accessibility barrier. Unless an optional setting is added, continuing as a goalkeeper in FC 26 becomes impossible for me.
