Issue with PC Game Pass and EA Play
I have an active PC Game Pass subscription and my Microsoft account is linked to my EA account. However, the EA App does not show that I have EA Play, and the Xbox app says it cannot connect to the EA App. Could anyone explain why this is happening or how I can fix it? Hi, While looking for something else in my bank statements, I noticed that every two months, I'm getting a ~35$ charge. I used to have a paid annual subscription, but that was in 2022 and I didn't renew it. It ended in April 2023. It would be difficult for me to believe that the charges I am seeing to be related to that subscription as those charges started Jan 21 2025, more than 2 years after the subscription ended. Then, I was charged on March 23rd 2025, May 22nd 2025, July 21th 2025, Sept. 19th 2025, Nov 18th 2025 and Jan 17th 2026. Those are all the same amount; $34.47. In all, that's almost $300 CAD with taxes and everything. These charges are all linked to the merchant "EA ELECTR" so, if there are others linked to a different name, I do not know. My EA account information shows the items charged. As it should, my account information do state that I am not subscribing to anything. In short, there should not be any charge to my account. Example of the charges attached below. I also attached the proof that my membership had expired too. I tried to contact support, but I hit a wall with the chat bot. It can't understand that I want an explanation on a charge that isn't linked to a game. Even asking to talk to a human, all it does it loop back to the start. This need to be fixed ASAP. After troubleshooting for 3-4 hours while trying to play NFS Unbound after playing perfectly fine 4 months prior. I identified the root cause. In an effort to keep this Post straight to the point, I will go into more detail after explaining the solution. Solution: 1) Open File Explorer, right-click on your document folder 2) Click the "Location" tab 3) Verify the directory shown is accessible 4) Navigate to the folder, Right-click and make sure it is NOT Read-only or requires special permissions to write into. Ensure Admins have the ability to write/read the folder as well. 5) [If Installed] Open OneDrive, Go to Settings 6) and toggle off the backup for the documents folder. 7) Even if your One Drive was backing up a "document" folder in a non-C-Drive whenever it's set. It actually changes Windows 11's default location for "user\username\Documents" 8) Once the above steps are complete. EA Play should be able to write Saved Data again. Addressing the root issue behind EC: 10607 & EC: 6 Please reply with any questions, concerns, or suggestions.👍 And yes! Your Cloud Saves will be retrieved from EA and placed on your PC, provided you did not override them by signing in on another PC that did not have write issues. 🙌 [Details for those who care] The REAL problem & cause of both EC: 10607 & 6 (while in game) When you try to start a game and see --> EC: 10607 "Cloud save may be corrupted...please create a new save" - This could be the case, but it REALLY means "We attempted to download your cloud save and paste it in %USERPROFILE%\Documents\[Game name] folder AND then we read that location to confirm that the save data was INTACT, but discovered that it was NOT, so we are showing you this error as we believe OUR copy of YOUR cloud save must be corrupted." - Aka, your folder is either deleted, or permissions are not allowing the EA Play app to write to the directory. - This is commonly an issue after people upgrade to Windows 11, their pc or install new cloud management software. Why? Well, because typically people get new Storage devices, sometimes removing the original one, installing - Windows 11 could also rename the drive Letters, leading to a "misplacement" of the saves, or Cloud Storage management software like Google Drive or OneDrive could be manipulating your computer registry to point to an old location. My Personal Experience --> In my case, my original HDD failed, so I upgraded to Windows 11 & installed OneDrive. All over the course of 5 months. When the game landed on a Steam sale, I thought it was a great opportunity to secure a copy and play with friends. - But every time Steam would launch the EA APP, the EA App would forcefully try to read or write to my documents folder, crashing the game even after selecting the "create new Save" option. - EA Play UNLIKE Steam, ONLY saves to that variable Address, it does not care where the document folder is located, but is HARD-coded to save to what your OS considers to be the "document" folder, even if it's non-existent. In Conclusion EA did a poor job of providing clear error feedback to the user and completely misled them due to inadequate error checking & handling. Which led to so much confusion in the beginning. Hello, I would like to report an issue regarding the EA Play subscription display on PS5. Yesterday, the monthly EA Play subscription payment was charged automatically. In the PS5 payment history, the transaction is shown as successfully completed, and the subscription details indicate that the next billing date is in one month, so the subscription is clearly active. However, I am experiencing the following issue with how the content is displayed: - When I go to PlayStation Store → EA Play subscription → View Games, it shows only 3 games (two of which are already installed). - At the same time, if I search for EA games manually via the Store search, they are marked as “Included with EA Play” and I am able to download them without any issues. - This indicates that the subscription itself is working correctly, but the EA Play subscription page does not display the full game catalog. Additional information: - I have already tried Restore Licenses (I understand this applies to individual games, not subscriptions). - I have restarted the PS5 and verified that the EA Play subscription status is Active. My question: Is this a known issue with the EA Play subscription page on PS5, or is there a way to refresh or correctly display the full EA Play game catalog within the subscription section? This might be a one of if not the weirdest thing that happened to me. So my EA Play Pro subscription should have ended on the 14th of January and since I wasn't able to renew it due to not having money for it, I tought I'll let it expire and I'll resub to EA Play Pro whenever I have money for it. But for some reason, it is still active on the 16th of January, and whenever I check if my subscription ended, it still says that it'll end on the 14th of Jan. (shown on the picture atteched below). Whenever I tried to manually cancel the subscpription or renew it, nether of these worked, and it still says that my EA Play Pro is active and it'll renew on the 14th of Jan. which I really can't understand how it's happening. I am asking everyone, including mods or devs to help me in this case because I really don't want to get my account banned because of something that's not my fault, at least I think it's not my fault. The only thing I can think of, what could be the reason of this huge bug is that I used a credit card that's no longer useable due to certain circumstances, and I only changed the card today so that way it can bill me for the next month of EA Play Pro. Hi all, I purchased a Rog Ally, and it came with 3 months of game pass premium, which includes EA play! How exciting! EXCEPT: I cannot get EA play to work for downloading games. I have tried everything. Uninstalled and reinstalling both apps, tried to install from Xbox app, unlinked and relinked my accounts, restarted my system, contacted support, the list goes on and I can’t get an EA PLAY game to download, even though it’s all linked, same email, everything! Hello, I am reporting an issue with EA Play and promotional discounts. Normally, subscribing to EA Play should give members an advantage. However, in my case, having an EA Play membership prevented me from benefiting from the Black Friday discount for The Sims 3: Seasons. Because of this, I am required to pay almost twice as much as someone without an active membership, even though I would normally be eligible for the discount. This feels unfair and reduces trust in EA Play. I believe other EA Play members might face the same problem. I kindly request that EA addresses this issue and ensures that members can benefit from both their subscription and seasonal promotions without disadvantage.
