Happy New Year 2025 everyone, and welcome to another builder's collaboration hosted by Hidehi2 , Sandraelle and me soocoolsim ! Introducing Bayou Bijou, a New Orleans / Louisiana inspired world featuring seven areas: Map A - French Quarter Map B - Garden District Map C - Bayou Sauvage Map D - Farming Area Map E - Beach Area Map F - City District Map G - Lafitte Lagoon. Experienced creators (Intermediate+) are invited to join us in creating builds to add to this empty world. If building is not your forte, but you love decorating, just let us know. We'll try to match you with an appropriate builder to create a shell for you. Everyone can experience Bayou Bijou taking shape by downloading the empty base world and installing builds as they become available. Constructive comments throughout this process are welcome, so don't be shy. Please keep an eye on the "News and Updates" post for milestones and links to new lots as they become available. Without further ado, onto the details below and come join in the fun! CLAIMING OVERVIEW Take a look at the lists of available lots using the "MAPS" posts below as reference. Indicate you're on board for the collab by signing up for your first claim by replying to this thread with your chosen map lot reference # (eg A8). I will update the lists with claims and add download / media links when builds are completed. Every two weeks (approx the 1st and 15th of the month) a new claiming period starting with a 'Claiming Day' post will begin. During this period, if you are now joining the collab or have a build currently in progress, you can claim 1 lot. For ongoing participants, if all previously claimed builds are completed and link(s) submitted, you may claim up to 2 lots. BUILDING GUIDELINES Download the Bayou Bijou empty base world created by the talented Hidehi2. Please stay within the theme of each map area and general New Orleans, Louisiana inspiration. You have creative freedom otherwise. All Expansion Packs OK for use. All Stuff Packs OK for use. All official EA Store Items OK for use. Free EA Store Items OK for use. Note: Some are no longer available for download so use at your discretion. NO third party Custom Content allowed. Please Custard Check your lots before uploading to double check. We highly recommend you play-test your lot before uploading to ensure no routing concerns and downloaders can enjoy your build as intended. It will be useful for players if the Bayou Bijou lot address is included in your build description on the Exchange, albeit optional. Do take the time to put your best foot forward to make your build(s) shine inside and out. Each will be showcased with credit in video walkthroughs on YouTube once the world is completed. What to buy with 990 sim points?
Hey there, I'm getting back into the Sims 3, and I'm very pleased to see the store isn't closed yet. That said, I have no clue how to download all my points again. I also used to have a file with all the store content, to make clean-up generally easier, is there any reason it wouldn't work? It's been a number of years, and several computers since. Thanks! Hi all! I'm play-testing a world I'm building and noticed a few lots with no snow or weird snowless patterns. I realized they all had those glass roofs from the Stones Throw Greenhouse set. This has never happened to me before - I love those roofs. I removed them from some of my builds and the snow appeared, but it'd be a bummer to have to remove them. I tested in other worlds (the second photo is from Sunset Valley) and same thing happened. I've tried taking out CC, redownloading from the store, and still no snow. I may test on another PC if I can get it to work to see if it works, but I'm at a loss on getting snow back on these lots while keeping those roofs. Welcome to my Showcase Thread, and thanks for visiting! A little bit about me: I'm not really a game player but I do LOVE to build and have been creating since Sims 2 came out. I mostly built for myself (back in the day), then started joining building contests and challenges in the old Sims 3 community forums, which then led to me becoming a member of the DNA request team and started creating for others for six years. I have been participating in several world collaborations most recently and it's been a lot of fun. I've learned a lot about building in these past 10-12 years and have improved quite a bit since those early days. I'm a stickler for details and aim for realistic interiors in my creations. ~*~ Ackney-upon-Sherne Showcase - Our English Village Creators' Collaboration ~*~
We're really excited to begin sharing with you our project to build an English country village. It started with simply an interest in creating some pretty ivy covered cottages and grew into something a bit more involved. Our village is imaginary but is largely inspired by the Cotswolds and its pretty honey gold stone. Ackney-upon-Sherne exists in current times but has rich historical roots. Its origins date back to the Saxons, who settled on the central island, and includes a Norman castle ruin on the nearby hilltop. The name for the village originates from the Saxon language and means basically oak island on the shining river. Ack = oak and Sherne (what we decided to name the river) = shining. We have a little side area that's a bit different, too - more on that below in this first post where we talk about map areas. https://i.imgur.com/D5QWKse.jpg?6 The World We wanted to find an already existing world that would fit an English landscape and in looking about realized that Riverview would do quite nicely for our project with a little tweaking. That "little tweaking" became a lot more involved and complicated than we anticipated, and we are very grateful to @Hidehi for hanging in there to make it come about. Thank you, Hidehi! Our Builds We'll all be uploading our completed lots separately to our studios for you to download, with a post about them here. Once everything is complete, the plan is to also offer a save file with the lots in place (plus a few households) that can be used in conjunction with the empty world. Content used: Almost everything! Since this is a creators' collab, we wanted to make it as flexible and fun as possible for our builders to create the impressions they sought to make (within the theme, of course). There is NO CC used, but all expansions, stuff packs (including Sweet Treats) and store content were allowed, except for the following: No expansion preorder sets, no Katy Perry content from Showtime, and no promotional items (e.g., Dr. Pepper, T-Mobile). The primary reason for the exclusions are that the person who will upload the eventual save file (suzses) does not own them and cannot obtain them at this point. Map Areas We've divided the world up into 10 maps, basically what would fit into a screenshot. Each map appears below in one of the following posts and will include under it a listing of our builds. Map 5 is the central island, where the village first began, and the area where we will begin our uploads this week. Maps 1-8 are all parts of the Cotswolds village - some older areas, some newer. Maps 9 and 10 are a little different and based on the Lake District with a little Beatrix Potter thrown in. While the Cotswolds and Lake District aren't right next door to each other in the real world, they are here in Ackney-upon-Sherne. ;) If you think you would like to contribute something to our project, please contact suzses privately by PM here on the forum, and we'll let you know what we have planned.
