EA Game Versions
If I have two versions of a game, one license on Steam and the other license from the EA app. Does it give me the ability to choose which platform to download and update the game? For example: I have Battlefield 2042 on Steam, but it does not give me the option to buy the EA Version or even download from the EA app stating that I should manage the game from Steam. So what happens if I redeem a EA app version of Battlefield 2042 alongside my Steam licensed version? Does it add a EA app version of the game, does it merge both licenses giving access to both platforms, or does it reject the license because I already have it on Steam? I tried this with Starwars Battlefront 2, I originally had a EA App version of it, and I also have a EPIC Games Store version. Upon installing the EPIC Games Store version, it changed my Battlefront 2's artwork cover adding the EPIC logo on top of it in my EA App library. It allows me to download either from the EPIC Games Store or the EA App, I did not even need EPIC Games Store installed because it recognises my EPIC version even without the EPIC Games Store being installed. Now from what I undestand Steam manages it's own installation and updates, where as EPIC required the EA App to cover the backend installation. If I did not own an EA version of Starwars Battlefront 2, then would that mean I would only beable to initialise the installation from the Epic Games Store and not the EA app exclusively. If you can not manage multiple platform versions, then this really should be looked at by either allowing the individual to select between EA App, Epic or Steam. Additionaly, I also want to point out that the inability to change the games artwork to remove the Steam or Epic logo is also rather annoying. EA App Artwork: No Logo identifying the EA app version. Steam and Epic Artwork with Logos identifying the version. But what if we own two versions of the same game on different platforms, what happens to the artwork in your library?
Ea app/client - when native windows 11 ARM support?
Just installed the EA app/client on my snapdragon x plus laptop, and task manager says It's running under x64, not ARM64, which hurts performance when navigating the launcher and installing games. When will the EA app get native windows 11 ARM support?I don't like this app.
I bought ME:LE on Steam. I want to play it but I heard the EA app was buggy, ate money, and had privacy concerns. I thought to myself: "That sounds right about in line with EA." So I used the Origin workaround for a while until you guys dropped Origin. Now I can't play Mass Effect without being taxed somehow. Even though I already bought the game. I just won't then. You took away Mass Effect just like you took away the studio that made it. I miss EA from the 90's. I wish you guys cared about people and not just money. You won't get any more from me. -Disappointed gamer
Disable EA Overlay through Config File or Windows Registry
I have added an EA Game to Steam as a Non-Steam-Game to play it with the Steam Overlay but I noticed that some games freeze on start when both the EA and Steam Overlay are active. Example for one game: STAR WARS Galaxy of Heroes. I can manually disable the EA Overlay through the app but this option is a global setting and not an individual game setting like it was in Origin. Is it possible that I can disable the EA Overlay through a certain config file or a certain entry in the Windows Registry(if available)? In that case I would run a batch script that disables the EA Overlay through that file or registry entry when I run an EA Game from Steam as a Non-Steam Game to avoid issues with the EA Overlay and reactivate it once the Non-Steam-Game is closed. If someone could help me with this, it would be much appreciated.EA app on Steam Deck?
So, I am planning the transaction of a steam deck. I want it for a few reasons, but a main reason is Sims Legacy. I bought The 25th birthday bundle last week and I decided that I want to play it on the go. So I want to buy Valve's portable PC known as the Steam Deck, but is the EA app available on the Steam Deck? I'm a parent managing my 10-year-old daughter’s gaming accounts through family/parental controls. She started playing Sims4 on a PS5 using the PlayStation login option. Now she’s switching to a Mac (M4), and we’ll be selling the PS5 soon. We’re now stuck because of one of two issues — solving either would let us move forward: EA App on Mac shows nothing When logging in via her PlayStation-linked account, the EA App on Mac is completely empty — no games, no store, nothing. Even after temporarily disabling all PlayStation parental controls, the app stays blank. Can’t “promote” her EA account We tried converting her PlayStation-linked EA account into a regular EA login tied to her email (keeping her current User ID, friends, etc.), but when we try to create a child account from my parent account, we get the error: "User ID already in use." We understand we'll need to repurchase Sims4 add-ons on the Mac (which is disappointing, EA), but right now, we just want to move forward in one of these two ways: Either fix the EA App so it works with her current login Or convert her PlayStation-based EA account into a full EA account Any help would be greatly appreciated — thank you!
