the sims + the sims packs will not run
I've bought and downloaded The Sims + The Sims Packs but it will not run the game. It acts like it's going to, but nothing happens. I've restarted, run as admin, repaired the game files, and uninstalled/reinstalled the game. EDIT: I am on Windows 11. EDIT: This is about THE SIMS, not The Sims 2. If you are having issues with The Sims 2, please go to another thread so that EA staff and other people with this issue do not get confused about the solution.
Sims 2 Birthday Bundle
Hello! Is anyone else having an issue when downloading their sims 2 from the Sims Birthday Bundle that just released??? My download of it gets to about 97%, before it crashes, saying "DirectX Setup Error: An Internal error occurred.". And when I click on "OK", it then pops up "Invalid command line switch.". Does anyone have suggestions on what I can do to make the game download? :'(
The Sims 2 keeps crashing
I've only just bought the The Sims 2 + The Sims 2 packs and have tried to play it for an hour. The first time I tried to play the game it let me create a family and then it crashed. I restarted it again and managed to create a smaller family and played with it for 15 minutes until it crashed again. I'm so sick and tired of EA releasing things that doesn't work and I don't understand why I keep falling for the same trick over and over again. I was so excited to play the game which I loved to play during my childhood, but yet again, in the well known and expected fashion of modern day EA, the game doesn't work. STOP releasing games that doesn't work please. Is anyone else experiencing the same thing that I am? Please, tell me.
I had it, then I didn't.
Alright, EA, we need to talk because my Sims 4 experience has been a rollercoaster—and not the fun kind. First, the game tells me I’m not the administrator… except I am. Fine, after some deep dives into the forums, I find a fix. Crisis averted! But then, the game decides to gaslight me, claiming I don’t own my mod packs—despite them being installed. Whatever, at least the content still shows up, so I move on. Then, I make the grave mistake of opening the gallery. The game retaliates by murdering my internet, crashing EA, taking Discord down with it, and nearly crashing itself. If I’m willing to wait five minutes per item, I can eventually see the gallery, but at that point, I could probably knit my Sim a sweater in real life. And now, today’s brand-new nightmare: EA has apparently decided I own nothing. No Sims 4. No add-ons. Nothing. Just a blank slate as if I’ve never spent a dime. Which is particularly insulting because I just bought the Ranch expansion last night. I am beyond frustrated. Someone—preferably an EA rep—please fix my game so I can actually play what I paid for and finally ride my digital horses.
