EA App Won't Update Sims 4
On Tuesday, May 12th there was a big update for Sims4, I waited until Thursday to run the update. Until then I had been playing offline. It won't run the update. It says there is an access error code for ts4_x64.exe_dip_staged. Please see the attached screen shot. I have followed so many suggested steps like clearing app cache and turned off my Trend Micro to see if that would allow it to update. Checked that EA and TS4 is allowed access thru my firewall. I cannot add the drip_staged file to my exceptions folder in Trend because I do not have it in my Bin folder. Nothing is working. I originally had OneDrive on my computer but since nothing else was working I moved my game off of OneDrive and removed OneDrive from my computer. Still cannot update or access my game online. I went into EA Chat, the emails gave me this number in the Chat confirmation emails 246233743. They couldn't help me. I play on an ASUS laptop. I had tried downloading Reshade Wednesday night but it wouldn't install so I went back thru and uninstalled it. I do not see any leftover files from it in my game folder. I have no other Mods or CC on my game, Thank youafter the update, My other household sims keep having babies
After the update, my other household Sims keep having babies even though the household size limit is set to 8. Every time I check the house, it’s full of newborns and the female Sims are always in labor again. But after the birth, there’s no baby anywhere!? And somehow all the babies are the same gender too. another one, I’ve been playing this family for generations with the Royal & Legacy pack, and ever since the update, every time I start playing this household, I get notifications saying dynasty member has joined — one alert for each family member.Exception Breakpoint
Hello, I'm currently encountering a mild issue: every time I shut down my PC after playing The Sims 4, a pop-up window appears telling me that an exception breakpoint has been reached. The title of the window indicates it is being prompted by EADesktop, which is found in the EA app files, not The Sims game files, so I am assuming it's a problem with that application. I'm not sure I can get a screenshot of the error message, since it's interrupting the shutdown process when it occurs, but I will attach a DxDiag.txt file below. The error code I'm getting is 0x80000003 (which seems to be the common code for this error) and it occurs at location 0x00007FFC0292D8E1 (or, at least, it did the time that I wrote down the details). I have since uninstalled and reinstalled both the EA app and The Sims 4 at least twice each, and I continue to encounter the issue, but I haven't checked if the error location is the same. It doesn't affect anything once the "OK" button or the "X" is pressed as far as I can tell, but it is an at first alarming and then annoying interruption to the normal shutdown process. In terms of troubleshooting, I've done the following: Repair files for EA application + The Sims 4 files, shutdown: issue persists; Disable run on startup for EA application, end EA tasks in Task Manager, use PC for light tasks (Firefox ~15 minutes) without using EA app or The Sims 4, shutdown: no issue encountered; Boot up PC, use for light gaming (Civ V for ~1 hour), shutdown: no issue encountered; Boot up PC, play The Sims 4 as normal, then shutdown: issue persists. Uninstall EA application + The Sims 4, check shutdown + restart quality without EA app installed: no issue encountered; Reinstall EA application + The Sims 4, shutdown + restart with EA app installed, without using EA app or The Sims 4: no issue encountered; Play as normal, then shutdown: issue persists; Boot up PC, check remaining storage and memory: looks okay to me, but I'm no expert. Refer to the attached DxDiag.txt file to make an independent judgement. Run mdsched + restart to check for memory leaks: no problems detected; Open the Sims 4, close the application, check Task Manager and end EA background processes, then shut down: no issue encountered. My current conclusion: Issue is related to the EA application and only the EA application, which is engaged on some level every time The Sims 4 runs. Because the EA application continues to run in the background/system tray even after closing the window, its background processes continue running until ended directly in Task Manager (which does not produce an error code) or indirectly by the shutdown process, which is where the pop-up occurs. Best guess: even the clean, new-in-box EA application background processes currently include a fragment of code with a debugging breakpoint that triggers when the program is "unexpectedly interrupted", producing a pop-up window which only allows the user to terminate the program, which, incidentally, is what the shutdown process is already doing, and what most users expect the "X" on the application window to have already done. Other, related advice I've seen but haven't tried: Run chkdsk as administrator to find and repair potential hard drive issues; Check for driver updates. Some kind of registry change to prevent EA from running in the background after being closed out? Though I have technically been able to locate the problem and a workaround, I would love to find a solution that doesn't require me to open Task Manager after every session of the Sims, so if you have any thoughts, please advise.
