College Football 27 Road To CFP
Simple question. Custom Adjustments, will they be in Road To CFP? Are additional bowl games in the mode, say the Cotton or Holiday Bowl in the mode if you dont make the CFP? Can we anticipate more team diversity in this mode(aka not everyone running to Bama like in 25 and Ohio State like in 26)EA Is Listening — Here’s How CFB 27 Could Be Even Better
First off, I want to give credit where it’s due. The difference between where the series resumed with CFB 25 and where it is today with CFB 27 is night and day. The improvement has been absolutely massive. EA has shown that they listen to the community and are committed to making the game better every year. As someone who spends a lot of time in Dynasty and RTG, I genuinely appreciate the work that has gone into the game. That said, there are a few things I would love to see tweaked moving forward. 1. More Customization Options If I could ask for one thing above all else, it would be the ability to create plays from scratch. Whether it’s through Dynasty, the recruiting board, or simply as a menu option, being able to design and save custom players would add an incredible amount of depth and creativity. I understand there may be restrictions due to NIL and licensing, but this would be a game-changing addition. Along those same lines, I would love to see some form of created player functionality similar to Madden. Even if it were limited, having access to the CFB face models and customization options outside of RTG would be the icing on the cake. 2. RTG Progression Needs Adjustment I actually like the new build and cap system. It gives players an identity and prevents everyone from becoming a 99 overall instantly. However, progression feels too slow. If I’m a freshman Heisman winner and one of the best players in the country, it feels strange to enter my sophomore season as a 79 overall. There are a lot of factors involved, including coaching, academics, and school resources, but overall player growth should be faster when performance justifies it. My suggestion: Increase the rate at which players earn upgrade points. Make progression feel more rewarding for elite performance. Balance this by making it easier to lose ratings through academics, fitness, coach trust, transferring, and other off-field factors. Reward excellence, but make maintaining excellence difficult. 3. Equipment Customization and Team Immersion You all knocked player customization out of the park this year. The foundation is fantastic. My biggest request is simple: Give leg sleeves the same color customization options as arm sleeves. Allow us to choose: White Black Primary Team Color Secondary Team Color For example, Alabama regularly wears black leg sleeves in real life, but in CFB 27 we’re limited to white. It’s a small detail, but details like that matter for immersion. I’d also love to see: More wristband options More arm sleeve options More equipment pieces from the Madden equipment catalog - The vaulted items I've seen! More placement options for accessories - Multiple arm WITH SPACE between the bands like Tyrann mathieu used to wear. The more customization available, the more unique and authentic teams feel. 4. Mass Equipment Editing in Dynasty This might be one of the biggest quality-of-life improvements possible. When I start a Dynasty, I spend hours recruiting, building the roster, and creating a team identity. What I don’t enjoy is manually editing every single player one by one just to get equipment colors unified. A mass-edit feature would be incredible. For example: Arm sleeves = White Wrist accessories = Black Elbow accessories = White Gloves = Primary Team Color Being able to apply equipment settings across an entire roster would save hours and make customization far more enjoyable. 5. Away Uniform Logic Needs Work This is a small thing, but it impacts immersion every season. Most teams switch to predominantly white accessories on the road in real life. On the game some teams are limited to their team color even when away and the primary color is white. that makes the immersion less pleasing leaving the only if thought of it. Using USF as an example, when we play away games we wear white accessories, white sleeves, white tights, and white gloves—not green. When we’re home, that’s when the team colors, alternates, blackouts, neon themes, and special uniforms come into play. I’d love to see accessory colors automatically adjust based on whether a team is home or away, or at least provide a team-wide toggle that allows users to set those preferences. It would make every team look much more authentic. Overall, I hope someone from EA sees this. CFB 27 is an awesome game and a huge improvement over where the series started. These suggestions come from someone who genuinely enjoys the game and wants to see it continue to grow. Keep up the good work.
