*fixed*UI Bugs when opening the Simology Panel for teen/child-July 23rd Patch
Game UI bugs when I open the Simology panel for teens/kids already played including ones downloaded from the gallery that have saved skills/character values. The sims in question already have time played on them, their skill levels are up and character values are also up. When the UI bugs i am unable to travel, open up the game menu/settings and live mode. The only option that works is manage Worlds however it does not go out to the manage worlds screen once you save and exit or just exit. It remains as a black screen with sim icons and emotes going ( game is still running on the household) The bottom UI buttons for the sims themselves is fine to flip through, but if you'retrying to bring up a menu it goes no where eg on the phone to travel, bring up job options etc So far I have replicated the issue everytime in my game, noted below scenarios: Current household is one i downloaded from my gallery, the teens already had skills and character values against them. Added an elder to the household via create a sim to put them in the world. Elder sim similogy loaded without bugging, teen simology bugged the game. Loaded an old save with a teen sim in the family, opened a young adult, adult, elder and toddler simology panel- were fine teen however bugged out. Loaded an old save with a child in the household, both young adults Loaded fine but when I Loaded the child simology panel it glitches out. I am noting character values as when I get the teen/child simology panel opened, the top feature is their character values and they are going haywire by constantly changing when the teen/child themselves aren't doing anything. As long as I don't click simology the game runs fine (so far). This seems to be a bug with the new update and parenthood. I play without mods, I had to start fresh with a whole new sims 4 folder due to getting a constant error loading one of my sims family in my old sims 4 folder. However I did test this with both folders (clean slate and old saves)3.3KViews132likes105CommentsSims/Pets age up multiple times in a row
Its been about three weeks now and my infant will age up to toddler only to immediately age up to a child. I play super vanilla, only using the packs for content; no crazy downloads or mods. I've looked online to see if anyone else has been having this issue and it does not seem to be a lot which makes me worried. I've been trying to do the Sims 100 Baby Challenge and I'm at a complete stand still because my kids keep 'double aging' as I've been calling it. I wanted to make a more in detail post (TLDR at the end for anyone who doesn't want to read my yap session!) on this forum because I feel like it needs to be talked about as more than a frustrated vent, but the sims 4 team needs to slow down on new content and focus on fixing their game. I understand the devs work really hard and no game is 100% bug free but this is genuinely starting to feel excessive and it's making the game really difficult to play. I've been playing the sims 4 since 2018 (which i know isn't the longer but I'm a younger simmer lol) and in all the time I've been playing this game, I don't think I've ever had this many bugs. I'd have maybe one bug for a couple of days but even then it'd be some minor thing that didn't effect my enjoyment of the game. However, recently, I've found myself using EA's gameplay support forum excessively. I'm come here almost every time I open my game because I'm always having some sort of issue with my game. My farmer and rancher sims crops disappear/turn invisible the second fall hits (and NO i don't mean an out of season crop dying, I mean my fully grown, in season fall and winter plants being invisible for the entire duration of the seasons) and while sure I can still use the gameplay mechanic, after a while (and many weeks) it's very visually frustrating to look at a large field of invisible plants that are still very much in season. Mind you visual issues like this have been bugged dating back to 4 years ago (though my specific issue seemingly only dates back to 5 months ago which is still a long time but a lot shorter of a time frame than four years ago) My sims can not getting married at wedding arches because it says that both engaged sims must be around (even if both of them are right in front of the arch), so I'm forced to do the manual engagement through the romance category which defeats the whole purpose of having wedding arches. With this issue also comes not being able to renew wedding vows because said archers are broken, This issue also seemingly dates back to a minimum of 5 months ago. Another issue I, and a lot of other simmers have, is disappearing terrain paint, and this issue has been happening for YEARS. The only way for me to somewhat circumnavigate is to build whatever im building first, save, leave to manage worlds, go back to the lot, do the paint, save again, leave again, and then load back in. That is absurd, again this has been happening for YEARS. Ever since EA introduced ads into the sims 4 (The opening screen ads and the splash ads) many people have found themselves not able to close or dismiss the ads, again another bug that has been around for a hot minute, that makes the game unplayable, that hasn't been fixed. Or what about the eyelid glitch that makes sims not able to close their eyes all the way? Again, I understand no game will be 100% bug free, but so many of the bugs have been around for months, sometimes even years, and they still aren't fixed, and it's truly ridiculous to see. It's incredibly frustrating to see SO many longstanding bugs be put under the tag "under investigation" when it honestly feel like nothing is being investigated. Or, at the very least, communicate with your community more. Even a vague "Hey guys, we hear your issues with the bugs and we're trying to fix them!" is more reassuring than radio silence or a moderator linking us to another forum for 8 months ago with a person having the same issue as you. If your game is so buggy it's putting people off and stopping you from attracting more people to it, maybe it's time to take a break from being a cash hungry corporation. Please, STOP PUTTING OUT NEW CONTENT AND FIX YOUR GAME. or at the very least shift your focus onto to fixing common bugs that make your game nearly unplayable. I love the sims, it is truly one of my favorite games of all time, but it's disappointing and frustrating to see 6 new expansion packs, 3 new game packs, 2 new stuff packs, and 12 new kits come out in one year while me and hundreds of other simmers have been begging you to fix a bug that first showed up in your game 2 years ago. So, EA, sims dev team, PLEASE FIX YOUR GAMES. TLDR: This game has so many bugs its nearly unplayable (or at the very least VERY frustrating to play) but ea keeps putting out new content instead of fixing month(s)/year(s) old issues and it's getting irritating.434Views25likes19Comments[ECO] Excessive White Cakes (NAP Active)
Every time any of my sims have a visitor, whether it's someone who just stopped by, was invited over, or came over for a stay-over, the visitor goes straight for the fridge and makes a white cake. During a stay-over, 3 people came over and all three of them were constantly making cakes. It doesn't seem to matter what household I'm playing - it happens with all visitors unless I keep them constantly engaged and then send them home. If the visiting sim is idle for ANY length of time, they're right in the fridge pulling out the ingredients to make a white cake. Edit By Crinrict: Adjusted Title fit bug report at AHQ458Views24likes21CommentsForever Free Packs for Everyone
The Sims 4 is a 10-year-old game with over 95 DLC packs, and EA will likely keep releasing more for years. Competing life-sim games like Inzoi and Paralives offers much of this content in their base game. For example, Inzoi can provide content equivalent to 30–40 Sims 4 packs in its basegame for the price of just one expansion pack(40$) and we already have 19 of them. To stay competitive and keep players engaged, EA should make some older packs permanently free—such as Seasons, Cats & Dogs and Get to Work. Giving 2–4 free packs from each pack category would greatly benefit new players so they can complete other packs without pirating. For players who already own these packs, EA could offer new Kits free for a month (like they did with Desert Luxe Kit when The Sims 4 became free). I think forever free packs should be; 2 expansion packs -> seasons, cats and dogs (out of 19 eps) 2 game packs -> dine out, get to work (out of 12 gps) 4 stuff packs -> cool kitchen, bowling night, backyard, spooky (out of 20 sps) 4 kits -> throwback fit, industrial loft, blooming rooms, carnaval streetwear (out of 37 kits of excluding 8 creator kits)11KViews24likes43Comments[LS] Sim who has never been heartbroken died of broken heart
I currently have love struck expansion on PC and the game is most up to date. I am playing as a poly sim whose romantic boundaries are all set to not triggering jealousy. Whenever my sim does anything physical with any other sim, she keeps getting the notification that she needs to avoid any messy break ups etc. If she breaks up with a sim, she has also gone so much as to die of total despair. There is no pre-warning for this. She just randomly dies of heartbreak.
