The Future of Dragon Age: A Passionate Plea from a Veteran Fan
Dear EA and BioWare Teams, I know that Dragon Age: The Veilguard received mixed reactions from the fanbase. It left many people genuinely sad, while others simply resorted to unnecessary internet hate. The game has its flaws, but it also got many things right. The gameplay, for instance, is fun and engaging, though I believe players should have more freedom to utilize abilities—both our own and those of our companions. Furthermore, it would be amazing to return to a traditional 4-member squad, or even 5 during specific story missions. I also believe it is fundamental to bring back something like the Dragon Age Keep. Having all our past choices recorded and actively mattering is what made this franchise a true choice-driven RPG in the past. My honest suggestion would be to treat The Veilguard as a spin-off and remake the original vision for Dreadwolf. Everything showcased in the official art book looks infinitely superior and more cohesive than what we ultimately received. You have a unique opportunity to attract new fans while deeply satisfying the veteran player base. To us, choices are everything. We need decisions that profoundly impact the world around us and alter the course of the narrative. We don't want all party members to always get along perfectly. They should have diverse dynamics—they should be able to dislike each other, argue, or even heavily clash with the protagonist. We miss serious, complex, and extreme dialogue options where companions can genuinely disapprove, fight, or form rivalries with the player. Companion quests also need to be stronger and more mature, delivering deeply developed stories. Diversity is and always will be an incredible thing, but the implementation of gender-neutral pronouns in The Veilguard felt shallow. If these themes are to be explored in the future, they should be written with real depth and organic integration into the lore. Take as many years as you need, but please make a grand-scale game happen. Dragon Age has the potential to be the biggest RPG franchise in the world. With the right narrative weight, we can once again achieve Game of the Year status, just as Inquisition did. I also ask that you focus heavily on romances, making them more mature, serious, and strictly M-rated (18+) to foster genuine emotional attachment. While the freedom to romance anyone is a great feature, the dialogue must uniquely change and adapt depending on whether it is a same-sex or opposite-sex relationship. Your official art book already contains the blueprint for what needs to be done. Bring back characters from Origins and Dragon Age II, even if only for minor cameos. Return the franchise to its dark, gritty, and serious tone. Tone down the constant jokes and let humor be specific to certain characters rather than a baseline for everyone. The politics and lore of Thedas deserve that level of maturity. Make something grand. Dragon Age deserves to be an industry benchmark, offering a high replay value where choices fundamentally rewrite the experience across hundreds of hours. Bring back betrayal mechanics—where companions can betray you over romance, abandon the party to ally with enemy factions, or face you as bosses later down the line. Please deliver the cohesive continuation we have been waiting for since the end of Inquisition. Regarding the art direction, I suggest moving toward a more realistic style or something akin to Baldur's Gate, as The Veilguard felt a bit too cartoonish. On a positive note, the hair physics and models were outstanding—keep that system and expand it with even more options for the different playable races. I am imploring you to take action. This message represents what we, the fans, truly want. Please, do not let Dragon Age die. I love this franchise; it helped me through some very dark times in my life. I only ask that you try for us. Just like Mass Effect, Dragon Age deserves another chance, even if you have to hand the development over to another trusted studio under your umbrella. Improve the romance systems, the party dynamics, and let both past and current choices carry real weight. We would love to see our past heroes return alongside their romantic partners, even if only for a single, meaningful scene showing them being affectionate, protective, and loving toward one another. I would give anything to see my Inquisitor and Dorian reuniting, kissing, smiling at each other, and standing side-by-side in battle if necessary. You have the opportunity to create the greatest RPG with the richest lore in the world. Please, make it happen. My game is having issues loading. My game is on SSD like the internet suggests but enemies do not load in, i have load errors every time I try to play the game. I have over 300hrs on the game and i have yet to complete it due to the constant loading issues. My graphics settings are set as low as possible to help with loading. I have tried loading manual saves but I only get load errors. I have tried creating a new game and I have again the same issues. Is there any updates as to if this is going to get patched or repaired otherwsie I have wasted 80euros on the game. Any help would be appriciatedThe Fate of the Leaders of Thedas (And other characters)
Hi, everyone. Hope you’re doing well. The lack of the Dragon Age Keep (wish it was kept) made me question a myriad of things, including the fates of the characters we had met as the Grey Warden, Hawke and the Inquisitor Did we get any news regarding the fate of the leaders of Thedas in the Veilguard? And other characters we had met in the previous games? Including our former companions. Aside from Aveline and Sebastian and Sten and Marius (not a companion but was Calpernia’s former lover). I’m aware that you can get some of them killed but what exactly happened to them if you had spared them? What happened to the leaders and recruits of the Inquisition, Alistair, Anora, Loghain, Fiona, Bhelen, Harrowmont, Irving, Eamon, Isolde, Connor, Teagan, Samson, Feynriel (who goes to Tevinter if you allow him), Celene, Gaspard, Briala, Abelas, Cyril, Alexius, Calpernia, and Meredith who is somehow still alive (or dead after knowing what happened to Kirkwall in the game)? And the list goes on... Regarding Calpernia, her absence was strange since this game takes place in HER homeland of Tevinter. I can only surmise that she might’ve left the Venatori after you had exposed Corypheus’s plans to her in Inquisition. But what happened to her afterwards? I know that she almost became a companion but that’s it. So… have they all perished in the Sixth Blight or are they still alive? And most importantly, who was the Divine? CheersShadow Dragon Battle Robes Not In Shops
The menu says they are obtainable as Shadow Dragon, which I play as, but they are simply nowhere. Some say they got removed, but then the icon would also be gone right? Is it maybe a bug? Or did I miss it somewhere? Am I just delusional? I was really set on exactly that one seemingly unobtainable robe...Veilguard - Rogue - Unable to use bow
I've tried everything I can think of to use a bow...as a Rogue...but I cannot seem to figure it out. Why did they make it so complicated?! I've checked the settings, I am set to a Rogue in Controls -> Class Bindings I have hit the "X" key, which is the key bind to change to the secondary weapon...nothing happens I've left-clicked, right-clicked...nothing works. Can someone provide me exact, step-by-step instructions on how to use a bow? I am clearly not able to comprehend this incredibility difficult mechanic of the game.[Guide] Welcome To Dragon Age: The Veilguard!

Greetings. As the title suggests, it would be highly appreciated if the devs would re-implement the Dragon Age Keep into a future Dragon Age game. The Veilguard felt hollow due to the lack of the Keep, and only three choices from Inquisition mattered but none from DAO and DA2. I'm sure that the devs are aware, since many players throughout social media and probably in here have already expressed their disappointment regarding this decision. Hoping for the best RegardsBuilds... You got 'Em... I wanna steal 'Em!
I love the new combat system and skill trees! I have burnt waaaay too many hours tearing through this game. The combat is probably the second biggest reason for my hours played. So, naturally, I am a huge fan of tinkering with my builds to get every last drop of DPS, stagger, mana regen, etc... out of my characters. And they are ALL different, because we have SO MANY options from stats to build around. Like, wow! It's crazy. ***Continued below*** My Veil Jumper is actually using an alternate build in that screenshot. He is all AoE, necrotic, and damage based off of arrow count. IFYKYK... ***Continued*** Specifically, I am looking for a good Veil Ranger build for my final character. Preferably, non-necrotic... I actually want a challenge! HaHa Again, IFYKYK... Also, if you want to show off your Rook's build, in general, I love trying to read your play style through your gear. I need an excuse to put off more chores. Cheers![Discussion] Venatori camps in Arlathan Forest
After the Unwanted Guest and Blood of Arlathan Quest so have I found camps of Venatori across the forest Defeating them give exp and loot but nothing else Are they supposed to give Veil Jumper Faction strength too after defeating them or do they only give exp and loot? This is on PS5 with Patch 1.000.004Poison Mushrooms moved in Arlathan Forest?
Don’t know if this is an issue/bug/glitch, but it looks like the poisonous mushrooms that deals necrotic damage have moved? They used to be by the Aravel, within the poison cloud, but have now moved, so they are kind of in the water a little bit away from the Aravel, they moved more to the left of it. They still work when I move into or hit them, so they still do what they do, just don’t know if this is supposed to happen later in the game or not? This is on PS5, with Patch 1.000.003(currently on Patch 1.000.004, still have this issue)
