Alt-Tab causes GPU usage and temperature to spike while Skate is unfocused
When Skate loses focus through Alt-Tab, GPU utilisation and power consumption spike significantly, even in windowed mode. On an RTX 3080, temperature rises from approximately 60°C while focused to 84°C while unfocused. Setting NVIDIA Control Panel → Background Application Max Frame Rate to 20 FPS completely prevents the issue. This suggests the game’s background rendering becomes uncapped or is not correctly throttled when focus is lost. After applying the 20 FPS background limit, the GPU remains at approximately 60°C while Skate is unfocused.Help...I can't play
It's been a really long time (probably a year) since I've been able to play because the game will either crash before I even get to the main menu, or just start up on a white screen and load for eternity. Sometimes I will see the popup for "New from Makers", but when I click exit, the game freezes. I have restarted my computer, uninstalled/reinstalled the game, removed all mods, unlinked OneDrive, updated my drivers...I don't know what else to do. I have no idea how computers work, but I've attached a DxDiag here.Arrow Keys Non-functional
Hey everyone, Just before the most recent Quality of Life update, my arrow keys and WASD stopped working to control the camera. I've tried repairing the game, removing all mods, and switching the camera from Sims 3 to Sims 4 and back again with no luck. The only thing I haven't tried is a complete uninstall. Also, no LEs or UI errors have popped up at all. If anyone has any suggestions, it'd be much appreciated!Game screen flickering when playing in Fullscreen mode with DirectX 9
For a little over a month now, I have been experiencing an issue that makes it impossible to play The Sims 4 in Fullscreen mode while using DirectX 9. Whenever I select Fullscreen mode with DX9 enabled, the game screen begins to flicker continuously. The issue only stops when I switch back to Windowed Fullscreen mode. Interestingly, this problem does not occur when using Fullscreen mode with DirectX 11. I prefer using DX9 for performance reasons, as I get significantly higher FPS compared to DX11. However, I would still prefer to play in exclusive Fullscreen mode, since it generally provides slightly better performance than Windowed Fullscreen mode. I have already ensured that my graphics card drivers are up to date, but the issue persists. System specifications: CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 4 GB RAM: 32 GB DDR4 Storage: SSD Graphics driver: Latest version available Steps to reproduce: Launch The Sims 4 using DirectX 9. Set the display mode to Fullscreen. The game screen begins to flicker. Switching to Windowed Fullscreen stops the flickering. The issue also does not occur when using DirectX 11 in Fullscreen mode.67Views0likes5CommentsInfinite loading screen
Everything was fine until the last game update; now, when I try to launch it after the update, I get stuck on the loading screen. It loads a few shaders and then just stays loading forever. Even when I close the game, it keeps running in my Task Manager and consuming resources. I’ve reinstalled it, cleared the cache, launched it via both Steam and EA, verified the game files, restarted my internet, and tried both Wi-Fi and a wired connection—AND IT STILL DOESN'T WORK!!!! CM EDIT: Removed Portuguese post. Please post only in the language of the forums.74Views2likes6CommentsWE NEED FRAME GEN…GPU UPSCALING AND ANTI LATENCY

Hello, I've seen a few discussions where people experience similar events but I have attempted to follow those guides with no success. Sims 4 on PC was working fine for me up until a few months ago, shortly after the fairy pack was released. Now, whenever the game launches my mouse is unable to move. Either using the bluetooth mouse or the mousepad does not work. I am able to click the Windows button and return to my desktop where my mouse works with no issues. If I try to return to the game, it's almost as if it loaded just a bit more but still frozen mouse. I have cleared my cache on my PC and on EA and nothing. Uninstalled and reinstalled the game, nothing. Repaired the app, nothing. I do not use mods but deleted everything regardless and nothing. I even attempted to put the game in the windowed version but that ended up freezing my entire screen. If anyone could please advise I would be super grateful. Thank you!206Views0likes7Comments
