List of Traits in The Sims 4
Hello! Despite the discussion collecting these already existing, I've decided to make my own traits list due to how these forums work (it starts from the first post, not the last post, and it takes long to reach the last post). This list contains all the traits in-game, both visible and hidden, in these sections: Base Game Expansion Packs Game Packs Stuff Packs & Kits Non-Pack Filtered Visible Traits Non-Pack Filtered Hidden Traits Popular traits Update Log To add a trait, you'll need to use this cheat: traits.equip_trait [trait_codename] And to remove a trait, you'll need to use this cheat: traits.remove_trait [trait_codename] In both cheats, [trait_codename] needs to be replaced with trait's codename. For most of the personality traits, it's same as its name, but there are exceptions (Erratic for example). Find the trait codenames in the list below. These lists will be kept updated as patches and packs come out. Please do not post under these trait lists. If you'd like to suggest traits for the popular section or want to discuss some traits, please reply to either this post or someone else's.9.5KViews18likes84CommentsLevel up with EA forums ranks!
In the new forums everyone gets a rank to show their experience and activity level at a glance. It's mostly just for fun, and can be a good way to show your progress There are 3 main types of ranks on the forum; Standard, Superusers, and EA Personnel, which are detailed below. Standard Users Active Ranks Passive Ranks Sub-ranks Superusers EA Personnel For Standard ranks, they are generally 2 words, a sub-rank and main rank; so "Rising Novice, or Seasoned Observer". Active Ranks: For folks who post, reply, comment, like posts and mark solutions we have 10 main ranks to progress through, each with 3 sub-ranks. Exact requirements are hidden, but posting, replying, liking and providing solutions will all go towards making progress. Progress will tend to be faster earlier on, so you might find yourself flying through the ranks. If so, and you want to receive fewer notifications, please check this article. Newcomer Novice Rookie Traveler Scout Adventurer Vanguard Hotshot Veteran Ace Passive Ranks: We know that a lot of folks will never post on a forum, and that the majority of posts are made by a relative minority of forum-goers. For those folks who prefer to read, we have 2 main ranks, again with 3 sub-ranks each. 1: Spectator 2: Observer Sub-ranks Our, sub-ranks are: New, Rising, and Seasoned, and are the 1st, 2nd and 3rd sub-ranks within the main rank. So for example a Seasoned Scout (rank 5) would level up to a New Adventurer (rank 6) Superusers You can find a more detailed breakdown of theSuperuser program here, but in short, it's a way to recognize standout community members, they get a new rank, as well as some rewards and forum abilities. You'll recognize them by the Hero and Hero+ icons. EA personnel You'll see EA staff here gathering info, asking questions, moderating and helping where they can. The purple and blue folks are the dedicated forum staff that you'll likely see the most often, with the pink ranks being folks from our various gaming studios and support organizations.409Views12likes0CommentsEgonVM's Ultimate NPC Making Guide 2.0
So yeah, due to how these forums work with the spoilers, the original guide is somewhat messed up and updating it would result in loss of information. So, after some consideration, I've decided to make a V2.0 thread on it, using the similar approach to the List of Traits with link trees and each pack being in its own post (so it is collapsible). This thread will have two main posts under which I'll post the info. Please do not reply under them. You may reply to this post or other replies (including mine). Links to important replies: NPC Making List Additional Guides But how does it all work? Basically, if you ever wanted to make custom NPC sims, good news is that most of them can be done without any mods. The main cheats you are going to require are those: testingcheats on traits.equip_trait [trait_codename] careers.add_career [career_codename] In the guide, there are 5 types of "difficulties" I'm going to use (and emojis I'm using with it): 🔷Played-Friendly- These ones, usually traits, can not only also be taken from sims the Played Households, switching to the household the sim is in won't make them lose their NPC status. 📝Simply Assign a Career/Trait- These will lose their NPC status when you play with them. The usual way of making those is by making these sims, equipping them with the required traits and/or careers, then evicting them. 🏙Location-Based Career- Unfortunately, this is where the career location matters, and it is the venue they'll be working at. As to my knowledge, there isn't any way to set a career location to a sim without mods, the best bet here is to modify sims already working there or make one of the custom sim unplayed and hope they'll appear in that role. 🔻Must Be Unplayed- You may assign a required career and/or trait, but they'll won't appear in the role until you set the household to be unplayed. 👨👩👧👦Out of Control- Welp, these sims are chosen randomly from a broad selection. No way to influence the game to pick the sim you want... And in addition, these emojis represent the following: ✅️Must have, meaning that your sim must have that skill, trait, career etc to appear in this role. 🟡Optional, meaning that your sim can have it for the game to consider them more for the role, but they don't need to have it. Sometimes used in sub-types. ❌️Mustn't have, meaning if your sim has the skill, trait, career etc, the game will never place them in the role even when all other conditions are met. ❕Splits into sub-types, meaning that for the sim to appear in the role, they must meet at least one of the requirements in the following list below for the game to consider them. Ghosts and sims that are currently at work are usually excluded. In addition, this list shows the sims that will be excluded from the most of the roles: I've also decided to bring out templates too. These are not important when making NPC sims, but are rather some interesting side-info on how sims are generated for the role by the game. So yeah, look at the list and have fun making your own NPC sims!4.4KViews9likes412CommentsHow I take my sim's photo's and make them family portraits
Hi there simmers. Since we got Growing together I felt my game needed more family portraits in their houses, but I am not a big fan of having mods in my game so had to try and do it with what the game offers, and I managed to do it as explained below in a spoiler under the pics I have made in game so far ;) It is a bit of a big tutorial so please bare with me, I tried to make it very easy to explain. You will need two things for this to work. The family portrait (we got it a few years ago as a gift when installing the mobile sims game. It is available here if you missed out then ;) https://sims4studio.com/thread/13060/glassplumbob and you need the basegame crystal clear digital camera. (You need to buy it and place it in your sim's inventory) Once your family portrait frame is against the wall it will automatically display the household as it is. Mine is currently a mom with her infant. You can change the outfits and randomize the poses by selecting the portrait. Once you have your desired pose and outfit then walk your sim over to the portrait, make sure they face the portrait. I usually have them walk past it so that they have to turn around to face it to walk closer. Once they are in position click on the camera in their inventory and select take photo. Your walls can be down, mine is only up because I need to show you round about where your sim should stand, they can stand back a bit more, but with the camera you have you can zoom out which helps. It will look like this, you can select which size photo you would like, I selected large for this one Once the photo's are taken, then go find a spot in the house you would like to place them. You can place the photo on the wall by dragging it out from the inventory against the wall. https://i.imgur.com/2y81pNM.png then select to add a frame and the colour and wolla you have a nice pic of the family in a frame :) You can also drag photo's into the photo frames we got with Mochino stuff and Growing together ;) Hope this helps you all, happy simming <33.9KViews8likes49CommentsReaper rewards bug

I am not seeing any prompts so I can’t complete any of the missions… I’m not sure why it stopped working… I don’t use cheats or mods or anything like that, I’m very basic with my game play… however I saw this is a very common issue on Reddit and I have no idea how to even locate the files those people are talking about… what do I do????New Sims Voices
I play the Sims 4 on PC and I've been looking for mods to add new Sims voices for a while. I'm just getting burned out and bored with the 3 voices for males and females. Does anyone know if EA has any plans to include new voices in the future or is there a way to add new voices to your game? Any help is so appreciated! How to update your EA Forums name
On this forum we use your EA ID for your name, which might be different from your experience with some of the older forums where a different name/ID could be used. With this change, you might have a display name here that's sensitive or otherwise undesirable, so here's how to change it. 1: Go to https://myaccount.ea.com/cp-ui/aboutme/index 2: In the About Me tab, click Edit next to Basic Information 3: You'll be prompted to pass a security check. 4: Once this is done, you can edit your EA ID, as well as some other personal details. 5: Back on the forum, this might take a few minutes to work, but soon your name will update! You might want to try logging out and back in to speed up the process. You can find an index of other tips in the Welcome Guide.492Views4likes0Comments
