Folders are missing in the files
The first picture is what my sims files looked like before I moved it, the second is what they look like now. I uninstalled the game and reinstalled it on the new drive through the EA app. But now there is nowhere to move the saves, the tray, or the mods I intended to move. I've been trying to figure it out on my own since yesterday to no avail. Putting the game back on my internal hard drive isn't an option as I don't have space to update it anymore and it's unplayable. But I love using mods and don't want to play without them. I tried making a symbolic link between the new game and my mods folder, but it didn't work. I have no idea how to fix this. There is no EA folder on my new hard drive at all. I tried to get the app to install on there as well, but it did not. I tried moving the app to it, it did not work. I don't know how to get the EA folder on there to make it look normal.Recovering a Previous Save
I accidentally saved when I was exiting my game and would like to return to my previous save. In the past, I would use the floppy disk icon and recover the save I wanted. Now with the newer Sims 4 menu, I can't find the recover saves button and am unsure what to do. I went to the Player Help Services to talk to someone and they were no help and told me to ask here,Recent Update
I have an HP laptop and my game was not updating and showed a permissions error: failed to create a folder. I tried many troubleshooting methods, including checking permissions for the EA folder and Sims 4 folder, running the EA app as an administrator, and clearing my cache. However, EA was not allowing me to repair SIMS, so I deleted the EA folder but copied everything inside to a USB. After reinstalling it and adding all the folders back, my game progress did not come back, and my mods didn't even pop up. Please HelpSims is totally bugged
My characters do not follow through with actions, cancelling them as I try to initiate them. As well, when I open the Sims 4 application, it asks me to delete 700 items off my pc. As for the character tasks problem (The most prominent issue) my game isn't modded, only having paid 16 dollars to EA themselves for the weather add on. I tried resetSim <F/N> <L/N>, shift and clicking on the sim to reset them, I even turned automation off. I worked hard for this game and for this to happen is really making me upset.46Views0likes3CommentsCatastrophic Failure Error
Hi, whenever I try to launch the Sims 4 i get an error "link2ea://launchgame/1222670?platform=steam&theme=ts4 Catastrophic Failure" in a pop up window and afterwards "Failed to start process for this game: "The operation was canceled by the user." (0x4C7)" I reinstalled my Sims 4 game multiple times not as well as Steam and EA themselves. I don't know what to do anymore, I don't have this issue with any other game on Steam. :/Cannot start because missing data
Far from a new issue as I've gathered here. However, I just now downloaded the game fresh from the Origin app onto a new laptop, so my situation seems a little different. There shouldn't be any mods or previous save files or anything to interfere. I've tried using the repair function and just uninstalling/installing again. I've heard this could be a rights issue, in which case I have no idea how to proceed. Idk. I don't get much free time to game much these days in the first place and it sucks that I can't even open a game I've paid hundreds of dollars for when I actually do have the time.Sims 4 Folder
I've been attempting to install Sims 4 onto my PC instead of it being saved to OneDrive, I've managed to do this and the seems to be running alright. Only issue is when I checked the folder, the layout is completely different to what I expected, so I'm not sure if its a problem. Also not sure of where to put my saves folder that I kept from before uninstalling (the saves folder in the screenshot attached is the one I moved but when loading up the game my saves aren't there). UPDATE: just realised the correct Sims 4 folder is in fact downloaded to OneDrive, even though when installing on the EA app I selected for it to be installed to my PC not OneDrive folder. How do I stop Sims from running on OneDrive, it constantly tries to delete items from the folder and makes the game crash. Feel like I've tried all the advice online already, at a bit of a loss.Application Control Policy has blocked this file - error upon launching
Whenever I try to launch TS4 through either the EA App or Steam, I get this error. I have tried uninstalling and have then reinstalled, EA App, Steam and The Sims 4 itself. I have turned off my firewall and the error still persists. Does anyone have any ideas?
