Game crashes upon death
Bug Report: Battlefield 2042 Crash on Death Animation So earlier today I started back playing Battlefield 2042 after not playing for about a year due to the new Dead Space collab with the new Outbreak mode. However, I'm having a serious issue where every time I die, right as the death animation starts to play, the game freezes and crashes immediately with no error message. This happens in all modes. I've looked online and seen others with similar issues. Some reported that deleting the cache folder for the game helped, but it was only a temporary fix — the issue returned within 30–45 minutes. Since deleting the folder didn’t help, I decided to reinstall the game, even though it’s large. Unfortunately, the problem got slightly worse: it started freezing even faster, sometimes before the death animation even starts. I then consulted ChatGPT, which recommended analyzing the crash dump file using a program called WinDbg. I did so, and shared the analysis with ChatGPT to interpret the results. ChatGPT Response Summary: Root Cause Summary: The crash was due to an Access Violation (0xC0000005) — specifically a read from a null or invalid pointer (0x0000000000000008). Crash Details: Module: amdxc64.dll (likely part of AMD graphics drivers) Function: Boost Serialization (boost::archive::detail::iserializer::load_object_data) Crash Reason: Attempted to read from RCX + 8, but RCX was NULL (0x0), leading to a crash. Contextual Clues: Crash occurred while BF2042.exe was running. Involves amdxc64.dll — a common AMD GPU driver library. Occurred during Boost serialization and DirectX 12 GPU pipeline operations. Likely Cause: A pointer used by the AMD graphics driver during deserialization or pipeline setup was NULL, causing the game to crash. So at this point, having done nearly every troubleshooting step and even running diagnostics with the help of ChatGPT, this is the closest I’ve gotten to an explanation. Hopefully someone from the developer team can help investigate further. And yes, before anyone asks — I did try switching the game to run in DirectX 11. The same issue persists. Hi. In the last 2 weeks I receive all the time this error: "Failed to launch game An error on our end caused the launch to fail. Try again a little later." I reset the cash, reinstall application, reinstall EA application and Battlefield 2042, reinstall Windows. SAME ERROR. Game acquisition date is 30 March 2025. Please provide a fix for this error or a way to refund the money for the game conform EU law'sPersistent Crashes with EA Anti-Cheat Games - TDR Errors and Memory Issues
I'm experiencing persistent crashes with Battlefield 2042 and Battlefield 1. The issue only affects EA games using EA Anti-Cheat and has persisted across three different GPUs, suggesting it's not a GPU-specific hardware issue. The crashes happen regardless of hardware configuration, suggesting a fundamental software/system issue. Games typically crash after a few minutes of gameplay with either TDR errors (GPU timeout) or memory leak errors, despite having adequate system resources (32GB RAM). Please advise on specific troubleshooting for memory heap issues related to EA Anti-Cheat, as this problem has persisted through multiple hardware changes and standard fixes. I have downloaded the game today, and since downloading it, I have not been able to enter the game once due to these errors in the attachment shown below. I have contacted the help center, and they gave me these two links, which also did not work for me. 1: Invalid license. I wanted to share some concerns regarding the recent adjustment to the minimum player count in Hazard Zone, which has been changed from 8/32 to 28/32. While I understand the intention behind this update, I believe it may have unintended consequences that could negatively impact the player experience. Currently, many players are being sent back to Exodus after just five minutes of inactivity, and with the new requirement to wait for 28 players to join, matchmaking times will significantly increase. This could lead to longer queue times, frustration, and further player attrition, ultimately harming an already struggling game mode. A more realistic and balanced approach would be to set the minimum player count to 12, ensuring quicker matchmaking while maintaining gameplay integrity. I strongly urge you to reconsider this change to preserve player engagement and avoid further discouraging the community.Network Connection Error
