[PC] Mass Effect Online Access Error in Multiplayer Mode
Commander, you’ve received a new message at your private terminal! When logging into Mass Effect 3 or Mass Effect Andromeda multiplayer. Players may run into one of the following errors: Mass Effect 3 - "An online pass is required to access the online features of the game." Mass Effect Andromeda - "Missing Online Access" Changes to the EA account cause these specific errors. These can include, but are not limited to, the following: EA Play subscription expired - This is the main reason in most cases Account Mergers A separate account downloaded the DLC, and the game does not recognize that your EA account owns the content. If you encounter this error when launching the game or multiplayer mode, first try the following steps to see if they resolve the error(s). Delete EA License Files: Make sure the EA app is closed. Press the Windows key and "R" at the same time. Type or copy and paste "ProgramData%\Electronic Arts\EA Services" (without the quotes) into the new Window > ENTER Delete all files within this folder. Clear Windows temp files: Press the Windows key and "R" at the same time Into the new window, type or copy & paste: "%temp%" (Without the quotes.) > hit "ENTER" Now your Windows Explorer should have brought you to the "C:\Users\>your user name<\AppData\Local\Temp" folder. > Delete all files and folders in it. (If some files or folders can't be deleted, reboot and try again.) If the above steps do not resolve the issue, you will need to contact our Support Team, who will review your EA account and make any necessary changes with you. You can contact our live support at help.ea.com. Choose the following options In the search bar, type in "find missing content." I downloaded mass effect Andromeda yesterday through pc gamepass and when I launch it, it tells me "missing online access" looking through the forums it seems like everyone is having this problem. Please fix it for me! The ea support chatbot refuses to connect me to a real person or actually help me in anyway, it just keeps asking the same questions referring me to the same article that is no help. Yes, another one of these. After spending many hours over multiple days discussing this issue with both EA and Steam support I was finally told to just report my issue here. In short, you have probably heard this one before. When I boot up Mass Effect Andromeda it greets me with the error message "You are not allowed to access the online features of this game". After following the steps outlined in this ( [PC] Mass Effect Online Access Error in Multiplayer Mode | EA Forums - 9200656 ) forum post to no avail I contacted the EA support for the first time. Over the course of a few hours with multiple support agents attempting to help the end result was, that their internal system does not recognize me owning the game in the first place. They instructed me to reach out to Steam support since I had bought the game through them and ask for "the specifics of the purchase" (The automatic translation making it quite difficult to actually follow what exactly they were trying to tell me by the way). So I did just that, with the Steam Support getting back to me after two days stating that on their end all is fine, I own the game and it is registered in their system. Great, back to EA support I was sent. I explained my issue for what felt like the 100th time and eventually the support agent figured out that yes, indeed, their system does not recognize any ownership on my account of a product key regarding Mass Effect Andromeda. After telling me that they would help me if they could, they said they would report it to their internal team and sent me here to report my issue once more, hence this post. I have seen multiple posts about this reaching back many years. Some are marked as resolved, others aren't. I got gifted Mass Effect Legendary Edition on Steam, but I can’t launch it because of the EA App. When I click Play in Steam, it validates for a bit, then opens the EA App, but the EA App doesn’t recognize the game as installed. It just says: “To launch on the EA App, download this game through Steam” and nothing happens after that. I don't get an error message. Here’s what I’ve already tried: -Uninstalled and reinstalled both the EA App and the game from Steam. -Cleared the EA App cache (using App Recovery). -Deleted the ProgramData\Electronic Arts and AppData\Local\Electronic Arts folders. -Verified the game files in Steam. Despite all that, EA App still shows the game as “Download and launch from Steam” instead of Installed, so Steam launches EA App but the game never starts. Has anyone found a working fix for this recently? I saw old posts mentioning Origin, but since Origin is gone, I can’t try those solutions. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I just want to play the game.Mass Effect Andromeda wont launch
No matter what I try the game wont launch, it seems multiple people have been having this issue but so far nothing has been fixed, its clearly something to do with the ea app. I own the game on steam and every time I try to start it I see the ea app start to load then it disappears and the games is no longer launching, if the ea app is already running, launching the game will cause the app to close then reopen. Btw i have tried reinstalling the game, the app, restarting my pc, updating windows, clearing the ea app cache and more but the problem still remains.MELE won't launch in Steam. Stuck in a Validating loop
I am no longer able to play Mass Effect Legendary Edition via Steam on PC. When I try to launch the game via Steam, The EA app opens up and shows a "Preparing Game" message for about a minute, and the Steam application starts the approximately 6-minute process of validating game files unprompted. Once the validating is complete in Steam, nothing happens. There are no errors shown in Steam or in the EA app. Troubleshooting steps I have tried: 1: Confirmed the EA app and the MELE app are not set to run as administrator by default. 2: Validated Game files via Steam (approximately 10-15 times). There is no option to validate game files etc via the EA app, as it says "Standard Edition accessed through Steam". 3: Uninstalled and reinstalled onto a different SSD twice. The second time ensuring both the EA app and MELE app were installed on the C: drive. 4: Opened both the EA app and MELE app as administrator before trying to launch the game. Nothing I have tried has changed the user experience in the slightest, and I don't know what to try next.404Views1like12Comments
