Smooth patch is not working
I don't understand it at all, I've tried everything: adjusting settings, changing the numbers, and trying other versions... but nothing works... it started when my C drive got too full, then I got the tip: install The Sims 3 on D (another hard drive with more memory), so I did that and since then it hasn't worked anymore. When starting up I do get: game patching! So it does work.... only I don't notice it in CAS.... eventually I reinstalled The Sims 3 on C using a symbolic link, because we thought that if it's back on C, Smooth Patch would work again, but unfortunately not.... and Smooth Patch did work before, I discovered it in March 2026 and it worked fine, I'm really racking my brain over this...And I also don't understand why every time I reinstall my game, that Smooth Patch stops working... it's just weird and annoying, because I don't know what to do to get it working again...I do get a notification when starting the game: game patching! So it does work, only it doesn't do anything in CAS... I am using version 1.69 of the game.Solved266Views0likes15CommentsHow to send a sim to university, then play as the original household instead?
Hello... It's pretty much as the title says- I want to send a sim to the university world, and then switch my active household back to the original one in the homeworld so I can play as the family with the sim temporarily gone to university. (I dont mind if they don't actually complete the degree on their own or anything, i was just going to use nraas or LTR) It doesn't have to be enrolling in university necessarily, or traveling to that world specifically i guess (though it'd be preferred), I just want to get this sim out of the homeworld for a little bit under the guise of traveling for school, but I am not sure how. I tried to follow some solutions to similar situations online but I think I just get a bit lost somewhere because they don't seem to work for me. I do have nraas traveler, among the other mods from nraas so any solutions involving those are welcome.76Views0likes1CommentSims 3 Package files not showing up!!
Hello! I’m currently trying to play the sims 3 but none of my custom content ( package files) show up or like register. The Download files show up no problem so i’m not sure what the problem is. i’ve scoured the entire internet to find a solution but absolutely nothing is working. i’ve downloaded the framework stuff out the mods folder in username/documents/electronic arts/ the sims 3 still nothing there isn’t any cache files for me to clear i’ve made sure there was permissions etc. I reset my laptop and it updated to windows 11 and automatically had my folders be with one drive, i’ve never used one drive before so i didn’t know it could cause problems when i read that i deleted it and that’s when my download files were able to show up but not the package files. i’m honestly confused and at a lost i don’t know what to do next please help!!Solved157Views1like8CommentsSims 3 (64-bit & Metal) missing from Mac library + Store content won’t download
Hi, I really need help because I’ve been dealing with this for days and multiple EA advisors haven’t been able to fix it. I’m trying to play The Sims 3 (64-bit & Metal) on my MacBook Air (2022, M2 chip), but the game is not showing up in my EA app library at all. Here’s what’s happening: I was told by multiple EA advisors that the 64-bit version has been granted to my account It used to show up in my library before, but now it’s completely gone I only see the 32-bit version (which doesn’t work on Mac) The 64-bit & Metal version is NOT visible anywhere (library, add-ons, etc.) On top of that: When I try to download and run the version in my library (the 32-bit version), it crashes immediately ("The Sims 3 has unexpectedly closed") I cannot download ANY Sims 3 Store content The launcher gives me a download error when installing content Things I have already tried: Logging out and back into the EA app Fully uninstalling and reinstalling the EA app multiple times Clearing cache (multiple times) Restarting my computer Trying fixes provided by EA support Downloading content through the launcher and browser Nothing has worked. At this point, it seems like: The 64-bit entitlement is either not properly applied to my account OR the EA app is not syncing my library correctly on Mac What I need help with: Getting The Sims 3 (64-bit & Metal)** to actually appear in my EA app library Fixing the issue preventing Store content from downloading If anyone from EA or the community knows how to fix this (especially on Apple Silicon/M2 Macs), I would really appreciate it. Thanks.103Views0likes3CommentsGame Seemingly Incompatible with Mod the Sims Content?
I know the title is a little strange, but I'm honestly not sure how else to describe the issue. Whenever I put my mods folder in the Sims 3 folder, I get a black screen on launch that never progresses into the main menu and can only be closed with the task manager. My mods are organized by where they were downloaded from, so I was able to discern that something from Mod the Sims is the problem, since the game opens just fine with all the other mods whenever the mod the sims folder is removed. However, no matter how many mods I weed out, nothing seems to work except removing the content entirely. Has anyone else experienced a similar issue where you had trouble downloading from a specific website? I've used mod the sims in the past, so I'm not sure why this has become an issue this time around. It's very frustrating, and I'm wondering if there's something obvious that I'm missing? Also, it might be helpful to know that I've installed all the Sims 3 Store content, and I've also made extensive use of the mods / cc dashboard tool. I have no corrupt files, and I've tried to eliminate all conflicts, but that doesn't seem to help. Any advice would be appreciated!103Views1like2CommentsStinky Npcs
I have recently got back into playing Sims 3. Having a lot of fun and game runs well. Of course there are things that were never fixed. The new issue I am having is Npcs not showering. Both at university and in the home world. My controlled Sims can use the shower just fine though it's way to fast. Which is another bug. But for whatever reason Npcs won't shower inside. I've tried replacing the shower and making sure it's routable. I even had a roommate catch fire and they put themselves out in the shower. So it makes them not using it even more strange. I end up putting the outdoor shower outside for them or having to cheat their needs. But I'd like them to shower like normal. I do play with mods and I'm on pc. If anyone know how to fix this that be great. If you need more information let me know. Thanks.75Views0likes1Commentsims 3 game launcher not working mac os tahoe 26.1
Hello, ive seen alot of discussion on the launcher having a system failure when downloading .sims3pack cc. so i deleted all of them. But, I have tried downloading packages as normal and it still hasn'[t worked! I have redone the framework for a new mods folder and yata yata, but still nothing. Deleted everything from the cache, and deleted my sims 3 folder and started over. Is there any solution? i have scrolled through reddit for hours but nothing has worked.170Views1like3CommentsSims 3 Crashing on Launch with Mods
I have the alder lake patch installed, which fixed the problem of the game not launching at all on my newer laptop. However, whenever I add my mods folder (even if I bypass the launcher), the game opens a window with a black screen and then promptly closes. I've tried narrowing down my mods to identify the culprit, but no amount of downsizing seems to work unless I have only the NRaas mods installed. I don't understand why this is so hard because I've used mods in the past on a different PC, but for whatever reason, I can't get the game to work on my current system. I have the mods dashboard installed, and it does identify some conflicts, but I thought they were false warnings because it pretty much only occurs with (1) multiple packages that are part of the same mod download or (2) various mods by the same creator that shouldn't conflict. The dashboard isn't identifying any corrupt files, and I've made sure to only download up to date mods, but whenever I try to troubleshoot this issue, I'm told either (1) that it's an compatibility or corruption issue, or (2) that my mods folder isn't properly set up with the two subfolders and the Resource.cfg file. I've tried everything I can think of, including deleting my cache files and generating a new "The Sims 3" documents folder, but nothing seems to work, and it's very frustrating since I rely on mods to fix a lot of issues in the game. I realize there may not be much I can do in this case, but if anyone has any advice or suggestions, I'd greatly appreciate it.Solved178Views0likes2CommentsI WANT A REFUND.
I have bought the Sims 3 on the 27th along with 10 packs thinking it would be as smooth and easy Sims 4. This game is unplayable!!! I have done all the troubleshooting on your website and with Chat gpt, 7 hours troubleshooting, it doesn't matters how many files cache are deleted, how many times I repaired it, how many times I have unistalled it and installed it, how many Microsoft processing systems I have downloaded, IT. DOESN'T. WORK!! I WANT MY MONEY BACK!! I will just go back to the Sims 4 l, with the money I can buy more packs. I thought the Sims 3 would be fun 'cause it has more things than the Sims 4, but oh my Lord, the headache it has gave me these nights of troubleshootings is not worthy, please refund me for the unplayable game you EA have sold me.
