Sims 3 Poor Graphic Quality
I've been playing Sims 3 since it launched and it is my favorite of the Sims games because of all the customization options (and fairies!). I previously invested a lot of time and money in it. I haven't played it for several years (I switched over to Sims 4 eventually, several years after it came out), but wanted to reinstall it on my new computer and play it again. When I did, it does load and I can technically play, but the graphic quality is terrible. I have tried everything I can think of - followed the pinned post about Running Sims 3 in Windows, limited in-game framerates, changed the graphic settings in game, tried compatibility mode, followed instructions about how to make sure the game recognizes my video card, etc. It does recognize the video card, it now lists the GPU as 5 and the texture memory as 1040 (used to be 32MB), and the graphics are somewhat better. Sims were basically potatoes, worse graphics than original Sims by quite a margin, but now look more like Sims when zoomed in, but everything is still a bit unfocused/poor quality and no details really show up, even with the camera zoomed in all the way. As you can see from the attached screenshot, the Sims and items in their house are identifiable, but clothes are painted on, and things are a bit pixilated, while things like wants and buffs are perfectly fine. When zoomed in, while they are better, they have blur around their eyes and other details, and they're not as crisp as they used to be on my old computer. I don't know what to try anymore. I really want to play Sims 3 again, but I don't know how to get it back to decent quality graphics like it used to have. It baffles me a bit because this computer and graphics card are quite a bit better than the old one I used to play Sims 3 on. Any suggestions? As the title says, all of my hard work is gone. About 5 years of regular simming. I'm typing this with tears in my eyes. I even recently bought Lucky Palms, which I have really been enjoying. Did my usual troubleshooting to get in ever since the EA app took over - I open the EA App, which boots up the Sims 3 Launcher, turn off wifi so that I can play without the "Can't connect to store" pop up that won't go away. This time I get in, and it says "New Game" ... all my saves are gone. I go back into the launcher, and all of my downloads are gone. I log in, everything is still gone. I log in to sims 3 exchange on web browser, and it is glitching out as I can't even redownload everything I've purchased from TS3 over the years. That being said, I haven't used mods or CC since probably 2015. I'm a good little simmer who has spent a lot of money with EA and I am absolutely pissed off about this. Stop forcing TS4 on us and just let us enjoy a game you've made with ease. A lot of us are still spending money on TS3 and it is truly offensive to just have all the hard work randomly taken away. Please EA, tell me how to fix this.22Views0likes0CommentsWitch Sim can't cast charms and spells
My Witch Sim can't cast charms or spells, only conjure apples. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling, clearing my cache, disabling and reenabling the supernatural pack, resetting my sim, using "Testingcheatsenabled true" to make sure she's a witch, repairing the game through EA, running the EA app as an administrator, and creating a new save file. I do not have any custom content or mods installed. Please help, I would really like to be able to play my game.15Views0likes1Commentsims 3 crashing as soon as I load up a household.
Since I got my new pc I've had issues with the sims crashing and application not responding. I've got an i7-14700 and Nvidia geforce rtx 4060 on windows 10. the launcher opens and I can select a world but the second I load into a household on a fresh save, the game usually crashes after 2 minutes in live mode, same with build/buy. I've tried my game both with and without mods but neither seem to make a difference. I've also tried the smooth patch from LD but that doesn't help much either. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated!183Views0likes6CommentsSims 3 Launch not downloading store bought items??
Omg, so I play the sims 3 on my Mac and I have been doing some research to resolve this issue. I have done everything and nothing is working. I’m frustrated because I miss playing the sims and I have a ton of store bought content that I would like to put in my game. Does anyone know a fix or workaround for this?? I’ve tried literally everything and nothing is working!40Views0likes2CommentsUnplayable on new mac
I just got a brand new Mac. I tried redownloading the sims 3 on my new computer and when I went to open the game I had to double click everything, I wasn’t able to rotate the camera, the eyelashes are glitched, I was unable to use terrain paint, unable to swim in the ocean, fish, or be able to pick up bugs in the world. I have put in thousands of hours into this game and it is my favorite game. I am devastated. This is the 64-bit version.43Views0likes3CommentsEA app redeemed code but did not redeemed?
Hi all, I just bought this the sims 3 world boundle through EA app. I received world codes in email and tried to redeem them in EA app. EA app accepted codes, saying that it was successfully redeemed but right after next poput shows message saying something like "Cannot reedem this code, go to thesims 3 page and redeem it there". So I did that. I went to thesims3 page, found option in settings for redeeming code but then sims 3 store is saying "This code was already redeemed". I do not have those 2 worlds from world boundle on my account though? What do I need to do know? Cause I am quite confused on this moment41Views0likes2CommentsThe Sims 3 Launcher Won't Launch
Since the Jan 13, 2025 update to 1.69.47.024017, I have not been able to get the launcher to open. My Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 3 folder is completely empty now, so no mods or old data should be getting in the way. The "Launching Game..." pop up for a second, then the whole EA app window blinks like it's minimizing itself, then reopens. I've tried various things in no particular order and multiple times: Repairing The Sims 3 Uninstalling and reinstalling The Sims 3 (have done this with the Revo following instructions here) Repairing the EA app Restarting the EA app Uninstalling and reinstalling the EA app Restarting my computer Emptying out my Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 3 folder, uninstalling and reinstalling the game again (it's still empty) Resetting my password on the EA app in case of an account issue I am able to start other games from the EA app, just not The Sims 3 Downloaded and tried to install an older version of DirectX even though I really didn't think it would work (it didn't) My PC: OS: Windows 10 CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 1700 Eight-Core Processor 3.00 GHz RAM: 32GB System: 64-bit GPU: NVIDEA GeForce GTX 1080Solved473Views0likes13Comments
