Newly downloaded Sims 4 crashes whole Mac once running
Hello, I recently re-downloaded the sims 4, however after 5 mins of it running the game freezes and crashes my whole laptop. I have the MacBook pro 2020, the system is completely up to date and prior to redownloading, there were no leftover Sims 4 files. I tried a few trouble shooting options (based on articles found here) like removing the cache file, moving the options.ini file out of the Sims 4 folder, moving the whole sims 4 folder out to create a new one - but to no avail. I also have no files in saved or mods / CC as it is newly downloaded. Please help! :)Mouse Shift/Drift problem
When playing The Sims 4 on my Mac, I encounter a specific problem in CAS mode. When trying to rotate the character or edit details—basically, in situations that require mouse movement—the mouse starts drifting on its own, regardless of whether I use a mouse or the trackpad. For example, when I'm trying to edit the nose details, I right-click and drag the mouse to the left, but it either moves in the opposite direction or resists the movement. It sometimes happens in both directions, but it occurs more frequently when moving left. I'm not using any CC or mods, and my computer settings are as follows... None of the controls at the bottom of the screen appear when I try to play a Sim; then when I try to exit and press the Manage Worlds button, the entire screen goes black. I tried repairing the game and uninstalling and reinstalling the EA app, but it keeps happening. I do not use mods at all, so I know that that is not the cause.game not working
the game loads, however, once in a saved file it lags continuosly and whenever I press a key to move around it gets stuck and infinitely moves in that direction. it's impossible to click anything and even rotating the camera doesn't work and triggers that infinite shift from before. the game keeps getting stuck, making it impossible to play. this is also valid in build/buy mode. I already tried repairing the game but doesn't work.Scary glitch with everything
soo I was playing and then this happened. It’s not my computer. No mods or cc. Restarting did luckily fix it. Hopefully the link works, otherwise it’s was black box jumping across my screen like it was poses https://share.snapchat.com/m/ESQwE3fu?share_id=Di1P2b5vQmu6f4LpsbG8vQ&locale=en_SE111Views0likes2CommentsMouse Pointer Freezing
While playing as a sim in The Sims 4, I cannot move my overhead game view forward via my mouse pointer. I can only adjust my "sky" pov to the left, right, and down via my mouse. And, often when I try to move to the left, my mouse gets "stuck" and glitches, then appearing at the bottom of my screen. However, using the arrow keys does work. I think this may be related to upgrading to macOS 26.0, as I had played The Sims right before I updated and was not experiencing this problem.Solved498Views7likes21CommentsNew update is causing frequent crashing
After updating the new Bug Fix update, my game is frequently crashing after just a few minutes of play. I've prepped for the same Spooky Party three times because it keeps crashing when I'm getting ready to do it (or just after). No consistency. I have the crash files I copied, but it doesn't give me any real details and it crashed while doing different things, so I'm not sure what's going on. I have no mods; only purchased packages from EA. I am on a Mac (M1 Pro). I've tried troubleshooting steps from previous crashing tickets (deleting localthumbcache.package and running a Repair on the files through the EA app). Neither of those helped. I have the latest three crashes from this afternoon/evening if it will help. This is very frustrating. Sure it crashed in the past, but maybe once every session... not several times a day. The only thing I can think of that changed is the update. I checked for other tickets relating to the new update, but didn't see any. I'm sorry if this is a duplicate.376Views3likes6CommentsCan't Go to Manage Worlds or Travel -Loading Screen - No Mods
For the past week or more, ever since I got the new update and the new pack, I have not been able to access manage worlds, travel, or load a save through the load game option. I can play my last played family and everything seems normal, except I can't travel or go to manage worlds without an endless loading screen that forces me to force quit my game. I do not have any mods so the fixes related to that I haven't tried. I have tried repairing the games through the EA app but that has not worked. What else can I try?Game freezes whenever I try to edit lots
I've had this issue the last 10 times I have played The Sims 4. I want to customize my world, but when I go to existing lots in build mode, the game freezes. It will load into the lot and my mouse can move, but I can't move the camera, I can't click on anything, and I can't get out of it without force quiting the game. I'm playing on a MacBook and I have no mods. This also happened when I tried traveling in-game to another lot, but it doesn't always happen, so I'm not sure where the issue is coming from. It is getting really frustrating and affecting my ability to play the game.
