Sept 2024 update broke loading screen to main menu and exiting cas
I carried out the update yesterday. Updated every mod I had that I was aware needed updating, at first I could get into the game but the game would crash going out of CAS whether it was live mode, from the household management or a new save etc so I went OK must be a mod. Dragged out the entire mod folder from my game to be sure, tested it. Still faulting. Removed the entire sims 4 folder so all saves, trays etc will be new, still happening while 100% vanilla. Uninstalled and reinstalled sims, repaired for probably the 07th time. Now when I try to go in (still vanilla, no saves or tray files etc, no mods at all) I get stuck at the loading screen like it can't progress to the main menu option. I've managed to get into the game, but after going into CAS still crashes on exit, ticked to use the direct x9 which seems to have rectified the cas issue except every second attempt im still stuck at the loading screen for the main menu to get into any saves. I've already done every basic troubleshooting method I can think of, just wanting to know if anyone else is stuck like this?7.2KViews17likes37CommentsReceiving "there is a problem with your game's setup" error after latest update
Hello! This is the first time I have received this error and I don't know what to do! I already contacted EA for help, and they redirected me to post about it on the forums. What happens is when I try to launch Sims 4 to play, I receive an error stating "There is a problem with your game's setup. Please reinstall the game." (attachment provided) I removed all cc/mods and additional files (like saves and tray) to a different location. I used Revo Uninstaller to uninstall both Sims 4 and the EA App thoroughly and did the scan after. I reinstalled both the EA App and Sims 4, which took all night, and error still remains. I tried doing a repair on the Sims 4 game, error still remains. At this point, I have no files from the game so this is completely mod and cc free. Before the update, I had no issues. I have had played Sims 4 ever since the first game released and this is the first time I have seen this error. I have no idea what else I can do! Is the game just unplayable for me now? I will note I am running an older version of Windows (Windows 7 to be exact). I did another suggestion that said to run dxdiag to receive error info (also attached). So I have already done this step. Hi everyone, I'm running into an issue when I try to load my most recent save in The Sims 4. The game launches fine from the EA app, but when I click the Resume button to go back into my most recently accessed save file/household, I get stuck on an infinite loading screen. As a troubleshooting step, I moved the Sims 4 folder from my Electronic Arts folder to my desktop and was able to launch a new game successfully. However, I’d really like to get back to my established save, as I've been building and playing in these worlds for generations and have put a lot of work into customizing my Sims and their lots. I also don’t use any CC or mods, so those aren’t causing the issue. Any advice on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!4.3KViews6likes17CommentsUpdate 11/ 4/24 - Sims game won't open and returns to EA app Homepage
Hi I went to play Sims 4 today, and it had me download the latest update. Since I went to open the game and it start to load, then flashes to the white screen and then returns to the EA app homepage like the game hasn't been opened. I am on a PC, no mods, moved my Sims files to my desktop, uninstalled both EA and Sims 4 and reinstalled, have done multiple hard shut-downs and restarts, all to no avail. trying to submit a report directly to EA but can't find a way to do that :(. Any advice or is this happening to anyone else post update? Haven't been able to get into my gameplay at all to even see if my packs and game progress are still there.4.2KViews3likes8CommentsInfinite saving/loading screens
I originally started having this issue after the September update and saw other people were having the same issue and followed all the advice given. updated all mods removed all CC started a new save (with no CC) removed off-the-grid lot types switched back to DX9 Unfortunately, none of these worked so I decided to wait until the next patch and try again. After the October patch, I updated everything and it's still happening. Whether I'm loading/travelling with a family, exiting CAS, or saving when building on a community lot. I'm completely out of ideas of what I can do at this point; I have plenty of space on my PC and while loading can be slow sometimes, I know that's because I have quite a few packs and CC and I've never minded. But the infinite screens are getting too much, I can't play the game at all without running in to one and I end up losing any progress I've made. Really hoping someone can help or this bug can be lessened at least in the next update. 🤞3.7KViews4likes12CommentsThe Sims 4 won't launch on Steam Deck. NO MODS/CCs
the "preparing game" still appeared but then crashed and go straight to menu. tried all of the "solutions" on google. (including,"verify integrity of game files", change the proton system from proton experimental to 9.0-4, switching to desktop mode and opened EA app from there, in which keeps crashing). and nothing worked. Finally, i uninstalled and reinstalled the game, it finally launched, but I LOST ALL OF MY SAVE FILES, no "load games" on the TS4 menu. i was so frustrated, tried playing a new save file anyway, and then i tested it by quitting the game, to see if it's gonna launch again or not. turned out, it didn't launch AGAIN! HOW CAN I AND YOU FIX THIS, EA???? AND HOW CAN I RECOVER MY SAVE FILES ON STEAM DECK. i have no mods/CCs, but i have lots of DLCs. i 'm using Steam Deck. not a tech savvy, i like playing the sims without a desk, that's why i've been playing it for almost 2 years on Steam Deck.Sims 4 Royalty and Legacy Expansion content missing in-game
As you can see at the screenshot my game after updating it doesn't recognize the new expansion and the new kits - it even doesn't show the game in the menu. I repair the game I reinstalled everything - I have 0 Mods - even deleted the Sims 4 folder in Documents. 🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️Solved3.4KViews1like13CommentsPixel Glitch in Game - HELP!!
For some reason my sims 4 has developed a issue where if anything pops up in front of the game screen (i.e. a notification from my desktop, or even just the volume control when I turn the volume up or down) then that part of the screen will be all weird and glitchy with multicoloured pixels. I have no mods, no CC, I've cleaned my desktop, I've deleted the localthumbcache a million times. I've even uninstalled the game and reinstalled which took forever because I have every pack. I'm literally completely lost what to do!! Does anyone have any idea?!I'm missing the EAlauncher.exe file (Solved + solution)
I don't know if this is the right place however I can't start a new thread on EA questions HQ because it's asking me to select something and then not showing me the options but effectively since an update in February 2024 I have been unable to use EA app. I have tried a million times over and every suggestion however I keep getting the pop up that I'm missing this file and yet I cannot find it anywhere I am also the only admin and user of the laptop. Does anyone know how can I fix this? Solution: delete the folders individually, do that for nearly a whole year (jk but that's whole long I've had to) get IDM integration module, install that, go to EA, install EA app, it should open the IDM pop up to install it, don't change anything, open the installer, repair, click it again, launch EA app, boom1.8KViews0likes6Comments
