Severe lag after 1 hour of gameplay : requires restart
Hi, I'm experiencing a major performance issue that seems to affect a lot of players (I asked my community and many confirmed having the same problem). When I first launch the game, everything runs smoothly. Menus like Needs, Inventory, and Aspirations open instantly. Build/Buy mode is fine too, with maybe a tiny freeze the first time, but that’s normal. The issue is: the longer I play, the worse the game performs. - After around 30 minutes, the menus start to feel a bit slower. - After about an hour, the game becomes extremely laggy: - Opening the Needs panel takes a few seconds. - Build/Buy mode freezes for 5–6 seconds before opening. - The Eyedropper tool has a delay of around 2 seconds. - UI and general interactions become very sluggish. The only fix is to completely restart the game. After relaunching, everything is smooth again — but only temporarily. After another 30–60 minutes, the problem comes back. This isn’t a hardware issue. My PC setup: - Intel Core i9-12900K - 64 GB DDR5 RAM - NVIDIA RTX 4090 - Game installed on SSD - No mods, no CC - All expansion packs installed I also tend to play fast-paced, usually on speed 3. In one hour of real-time gameplay, I can go through 10–14 Sim days. It seems like the game is slowly filling up memory or cache that never clears unless I restart. It would be great to know if this has already been reported or tracked by the dev team, because it makes long play sessions really frustrating. Thanks!
Photos/Paintings turning black/blank (1.102.190/1.82)
My pictures are black after I load back into my game on console. There is NO way to recover them other than loading a backup. Even if Maxis fixes the bug that they disappear you will not have them back as the information is just not there anymore. They should stay save that way although there are also mixed reports for those After you took pictures you really care about, save your game. To me it looks like that the pictures aren't properly saved to your game if you click save & Exit. Click save first, then exit without saving.
Adults/teens/children at work/school on reload trying to skip work/school
Adults/Teens/Children at school/work during lot reload are prompting them all to come home, effectively skipping school/work. I had 1 sim on their home lot - a residential small business lot, the business is not open on reload. My other four sims, an adult, two teens, and a child were all at work and school and immediately once the lot loads, the screenshots show what is popping up and I have to click through. I also had my adult sim return home from work before his shift was finished without a popup asking if he should miss work when I was playing yesterday. This occurred when I took 2 of my sims off lot to a park for a quest from the nature's calling event. update: my adult sim was still at work while one of the teens completed one of the nature's calling events (craft 2 items on new woodworking table) and I clicked on the UI for the next set of quests - I then received another popup asking if I want my adult sim at work to skip work... maybe it has to do with the event? I did also have issues with the Reaper's Rewards event in 2024 and was unable to continue progress on the quests past week 1.
[GRO] Random Milestone Moodlets
Both adult sims have milestone moodlets, but have never experienced those milestones. One has the Sting of Rejection (from Recalling a Milestone), the other has Hated and Sad About It and Bladder Blunder. I've checked both of their Milestone panels, and neither have milestones associated with these moodlets. I have also never seen these moodlets pop-up for either of them until today after updating the game. Edit By Crinrict: Added pack tag to title.
Children won't inherit their parents nose/mouth (bug in genetics)
If I mould a Sim into a certain mouth and nose shape, then these are not inherited correctly and never are. It is as if these specific sliders are not taken into account for inheritance. This bug has also been around since 2015 or so and I have it with and without mods, in new and old savegames. There was a mod for a while that fixed it but it hasn't worked since toddlers came out. I'm honestly also surprised that no one has ever reported this bug. Or maybe it was reported but didn't get enough me toos. But since I couldn't find it in the search, I thought I'd just report it myself and hope that it might get fixed at some point. Because it's really frustrating. Here is an example of what I mean. I have the exact same sim twice in CAS for testing purposes and use it once as a father and once as a mother. This means that the child should actually be almost identical to the parents. But it is not. These are not small, random deviations because every single child has a much wider and larger nose and a differently curved mouth.
