The Sims™ Legacy Collection scaling issue (tiny UI) with 1080p displays only
UI scaling is broken on The Sims™ Legacy Collection when running a native 1920x1080 desktop resolution. Running at higher resolutions makes the UI scale up so it's not tiny, but running at a native 1080p desktop makes the UI tiny compared to all other resolutions. Screenshots clearly showing the 1080p UI scaling issue: https://imgur.com/gallery/sims-1-legacy-collection-25-years-good-resolution-scaling-vs-1080p-dIwm1f2 Changing the desktop resolution to anything other than 1080p solves the issue, however this is not a reasonable solution. EA can you please fix the faulty UI scaling @ 1080p, for The Sims™ Legacy Collection? Or at the very least include a setting for changing either the resolution of the game, or the scale of the UI, in the game's options as is the case with pretty much every other game released ever? Hello! I recently updated my PC to have a RTX 5080 graphics card and AMD Ryzen 9 9900X3D processor. It runs Windows 11 Pro. After reinstalling The Sims™ Legacy Collection, it fails to launch. Crashing immediately, without any error messages. The icon just flashes in the task bar. I have been looking through the forums and none of the suggestions have been able to help me resolve this issue. I have tried the following: Have the latest version of the game installed Installed the latest windows updates Updated my graphics card drivers Configured windows to launch the game in low power mode Tried launching the game in Windows XP compatibility mode - as administrator Tried reinstalling the Microsoft redistributables from 2015 and newer. Collected my DxDiag and Vulkan info logs Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!1.3KViews4likes20CommentsThe Sims 1 Legacy: Resolution Issue
Hello everyone, I'm facing a resolution issue with The Sims 1 Legacy. Everything is working perfectly; the game starts normally with no errors or other anomalies. However, it starts in a very small resolution in the upper corner of the screen, while the rest is all black. The clickable area is as if the game is in full screen, making it impossible to play as I have to "guess" which black part of the screen I need to click to access the game functions. Before posting on this forum, I tried several solutions and found some temporary fixes. The issue seems to be related to Windows window scaling. For some reason, the game is conflicting with the recommended Windows scaling (in my case, 150% due to my 4K monitor with a resolution of 3840x2160). A temporary fix I found is that if I opt for a custom scaling (any value between 100-500), the issue is resolved, and I can play without any resolution problems. However, this scaling is applied equally to all connected monitors (yes, I have 2, one 4K and one Full HD), causing one or the other to have a huge or extremely small Windows interface. Additionally, my computer has been recently formatted. I've reinstalled the driver for my graphics card (Nvidia RTX 3070) multiple times and tried adjusting the game's individual settings to no avail. The only way I can play is by setting a custom scaling. Could anyone provide a more permanent solution to this problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.1.3KViews2likes20CommentsSims 1 & 2 Legacy Collection - Wrong Language
Hello :) I'm new here and posting my problem here for the first time. I come from Germany and bought the Sims Collections. I downloaded the games in German. Unfortunately both games are in English and support couldn't help me either. I have already changed the language, reinstalled the game and also deleted the cash from the EA app. Now my question: Does anyone else have this? Or has someone already solved the problem? Thank you very much in advance. Kind regards SaskiaSolved550Views1like3Comments"FIXME: WMP" Red Screen in The Sims 1 – Stuck After EA Logo
Hi. Unfortunately I am unable to play this version of the game. The game launches but gets stuck on a red screen with a "FIXME: WMP" error. You can hear the EA logo sound, but nothing else happens. A similar issue occurs on the Steam Deck, but there, the game eventually loads past it. Unfortunately, this doesn't happen on Windows 10. The WMP fix utility didn't help, and installing Windows Media Player isn't possible. My PC is on Windows 10, newest build. The Sims: Superstar had an Amazon Exclusive pre-order DLC for an Elle Woods celebrity NPC: https://sims.fandom.com/wiki/Elle_Woods Please, if an EA employee sees this message, use whatever contacts you have at Amazon to get this DLC content back, it's currently entirely lost media because Amazon doesn't directly sell New copies of The Sims: Superstar anymore and finding someone who has the code in their Amazon account has been fruitless so far. It would make so many fans of The Sims 1 very happy, not to mention really make this 25th Anniversary worth celebrating, please!371Views4likes4CommentsAMD GPU's still struggle to run the game in community lots
This is the third patch, still no acknowledgment from the dev team, running a 7900XTX and the game struggles around 5-10fps a card that can run most games at 4k 120 should not struggle with a re-release of a game from 2000. I am not the only one with this issue, many other users have reported this and many users on steam have also reported this.Solved360Views6likes13CommentsSims 1 legacy edition- Why does it do this? Not rendering anything
I can make a sim fine but when I move in the house isn’t there I hover my mouse and objects appear but disappear after. I’ve tried doing what ea support have suggested like clearing cache and what others have suggested such as downloading new graphics driver. I don’t know what else to do and I’m so disappointed I was so excited to play.Solved287Views0likes9CommentsSims 1 Legacy too zoomed in and blurry
I've been playing since the Legacy version was released. I had relatively few problems and the scaling was fine, everything looked really nice still and was clear and readable. I just launched it for the first time in about a month, and suddenly it's all blurred and in terrible resolution. I've changed nothing on my computer, everything is the same as it was when I first played. Did an update mess something up, or did something else happen? I'm running Windows 11, 1920x1080p, new-ish graphics card (Nvidia model within the last few years). Basically nothing has changed, I haven't even changed any system settings.283Views0likes3Comments
