Store Content Uninstalls Itself and Cannot Be Reinstalled
I've enjoyed TS3 for many years, but recently I've run into an issue that is bringing me to my wits' end. Starting a few months ago, my game has begun to stop recognizing my installed store content. The game will work without any issue for days or even weeks. Then, without any warning, one day I'll open the launcher and be able to tell that the game is broken again because my 'Installed Content' tab lists only my installed store venues (as CC) and nothing else. If I try to reinstall my store content from my Downloads, the game gives me the following error: "Installation failed: Please make sure your game has the latest Software Updates and try again." In the past, I had some success fixing this issue by doing the following: Rename the Electronics Arts Folder containing this file to something like "Old-Electronic Arts" Attempt to open the game by launching the game through the EA App. This will generate a brand new EA folder. Close the game. Copy the Saves, Screenshots, SavedSims, Mods, Library, Recorded Videos and Installed World folders directly from the Old-EA folder to the newly generated Electronics Arts/Sims 3 folder. 4. Open the Old- version of the DCCache folder and copy all .ebc and .dbc files (anything that is not a .tmp or the missingdeps.idx file) and paste it into the new DCCache folder in the newly generated Sims 3 folder. Do the same thing with ccmerged.package in DCBackup. The first time I encountered this problem, that was all I needed to do to fix it. The next time, I was baffled when this exact same process failed to fix the problem. I then added a 5th step of deleting the SigsCache folder from the NEW file after it failed to load, and miraculously, my content was back. The problem is that even now that doesn't work. My last desparate attempt to fix the issue was to do a complete reinstall of the game. I then redownloaded every piece of store content from the store website, and found that I was actually able to install everything properly. After about an hour, my game was finally working again. That lasted for three days. I opened the game up again today... and all of my content was gone once again. I realize now that the only way the game will actually install my store content is if it's downloaded directly from the store while the launcher is open. If I attempt to use what it's downloaded previously, I receive the same error about software updates. I've also noticed that SOME of my old content will actually be reinstalled. Most of the items appear without thumbnails in the launcher, but a few random items in the launcher still show up properly. Those few items will re-install without the launcher complaining, but it refuses to process the rest of the folder. As far as I can tell, there is no difference between the items that it still recognizes and the ones it demands that I re-download. Obviously, I cannot re-download the entire store every single time I want to play the game. Does anyone have any idea how to stop this problem from cropping up, and why it's happening in the first place?83Views2likes12CommentsOrigin account to Ea account
So a couple of years ago my mom purchased Sims 3 and mostly expansion pack that came out. She made the account with the origin to play these games. When the PC started to mess up, she was going to replace it with a Mac, but, she was told by Ea that her game was locked in as a PC game rather than an all-platform game; so she could not use a Mac to play it. A couple of years later, she started playing Sims 4 on the box. Now the problem arises on the fact that ea is separating from origin. She wanted to know if she would still have the games she had from years ago so she could play them on another computer.23Views0likes1CommentStuck in China
So, I went on vacation in the sims. Only ONE of my sims went, and she has been stuck in China ever since. I cannot get back to the neighborhood she lives in because it won't let me leave to go home. (I get the loading screen and it never ends). I'm going to try going home from the "edit town" screen, but I think I have done that before to no avail. Any other thoughts or suggestions?11Views0likes1CommentSporadic Outages: STATUS OF SIMS 3 STORE
Store has become seemingly unstable- has gone offline/online frequently since 2024. @me1260 posted a link of which you can use to check whether the store is available: https://www.isitdownrightnow.com/store.thesims3.com.html Whenever the Sims 3 Store is experiencing an outage, I wouldn't recommend buying SimPoints, worlds, expansion/stuff packs, or any other sims 3 content from the EA app, EA website, or Origin. Please note that the Daily Deal Times may be impacted due to outages. Keep an eye on the Spreadsheet and Daily Deal (DD) 2018 Rotation List and Sales Help | EA Forums - 1821670 for any updates. Hey, since 1 Week im here trying to install Sims 3 on the EA APP, some time ago I could install it without any issues but after coming back to it its just not possible. I've done basically everything: Uninstalling and Clean Reinstalling Boot in Clean Mode with just EABackgroundService running Running as Administrator Checking for Windows Updates Disabling any Defender Uninstalling EA and reinstalling DISM SFC /Scannow etc... Is there someone with the same issue or with a possible Solution? Would appreciate :)29Views0likes3Commentssims3launcher.exe no where in my folder
Hello, I have been playing my sims 3 since 2011 and I recently got a new hand me down laptop. I dragged and dropped my entire "Electronic Arts" folder on to a USB and then placed it on my new computer. But there is no sims3 launcher application in my folder. This computer also does not have a CD-rom reader so I'm not sure how I'll be able to play. I would also like to emphasize that i do NOT want to be involved with origin at all. I hate origin/EA app's interface, and I do not even play sims 4 anymore because of it. On my old computer I was able to play the game with my original sims 3 launcher and my cc and my EP's and it was fine. But now its gone on both computers. I've been at it for like 4 hours now and so frustrated. The only solution I'm going to consider is possibly using a friends computer with a CD-rom reader, putting my disc in, and then hopefully being able to put the sims3launcher.exe application back on my USB to transfer. Is there possibly a way to download the launcher on the EA site seperate from EA app or Origin? Ive had these discs for like 11 years and have never experienced this before :(Solved57Views0likes4CommentsCode issues
Hi y'all, 3 part issue/questions I bought most of TS3 packs as physical copies as they came out, and for the majority I was able to install them as digital copies with their codes no problem. However, I haven't been able to install Seasons and World Adventures. My World Adventures code gets rejected as being already used. I am the sole owner of this copy and don't know how this would happen. If anyone used the code, it would've been me (most likely). The FAQ tells me to contact the retailer, but I doubt Walmart will be able to help me with a 15 year old game. My Seasons code is missing outright. I understand if I'm SOL. I still have the physical copies and may be able to install them the old fashioned way. Will they be compatible with the rest of the packs + base game, which were installed as digital copies through the app? TY in advance53Views0likes3CommentsHi There, Skye Here
Been gone quite a while, but am here once more! So much has changed-number one thing is my pic is a boy lol! I'm just starting over here, so I'll have to haunt the forums to find what I need.. Mostly the tutorials. I tried uploading Astarion, Gale, and Shadowheart from Bauldur's Gate 3-and it goes through the motions, but it never shows up in my studio. Not sure why this is! Well, just checking in here! Happy Simming, ya'll!!!!97Views0likes8CommentsCan't launch the game "Service initialization failed"
I just got the base game earlier this week and I haven't been able to launch it. When I press the play bouton in the launcher, I get the black windowed screen and the error "Unable to start game. Service initialization failed". I know a lot of people have gotten this problem and posted about it, but I think I already tried everything and nothing works. What I've tried: Run as admin. Repair the game from the EA app. Start in window mode. Move the Sims 3 documents folder so the game creates a new one. Activate .NET 3.5 Install DirectX 9. Uninstall, clear registry, and reinstall. Defragment my unit. Delete temporary files Execute launcher with one CPU. Lazy Duchess' Intel Alder Lake Patch105Views0likes6Comments
