Thanks EA_Kuba for the valuable advice; while there's no such thing as absolute security, we can do our part to improve our defenses.

To this end, we should always keep our systems up to date (software, apps, and more). Years ago, hackers managed to hack one of my websites by exploiting a vulnerability in an out-of-date plugin (it generated thumbnails from images uploaded to the site).
