I've had the same issue immediately after the origin update. I also ran CCleaner right before so there's that. I uninstalled origin and restarted several times. Ran MS update. Restarted. Downloaded VC from the link given above. Repaired vcredist files. I'm still getting this message though. I'll probably try ramming my head through a window next. I'll let you all know how it goes...

Thank you for the extra posts, for now using the older version of Origin seems to be a useful workaround.
However the core issue seems to be around missing updates. Be sure to run your Windows Update program and ensure everything is up to date, then try the Origin install again and things should go more smoothly.- I've updated all updates for Microsoft.I have windows 8.I've reinstalled origin.and tryes repairing programs from the origin file at bottom of files said it repaired them.but still won't work.currently on hold for 26 mins with tech support.when I try to reinstall it throws codes like api-ms-win-crr-heap-l1-1-0.DLL and 0xc000007b.I've tryed everything even suggestions from here from other users nothing is working.I've paid for games I need to be able to play them if I can't I should get refunded for every single game I've ever bought.someone help please

- So finally found an old origin to download, well I can play games just can't access online.so ea and origin what are y'all gonna do? I won't be buying any more of your games unless u fix ur update so I can play online.I've had steam and never had a problem guess that's where I'll stay.so if u have a solution for this major problem let everyone know and also I waited on hold for 40 mins 35 which music played and than stopped stayed on in case to see if there was a human being on other line.I'm furious with ur tech support call line.and ur updates always have issues.
- So since there will be ps4 and Xbox one game coming out if u can't fix the PC updates to allow us to play the games we paid for u should credit us with all the sims4 games we have purchased to a system game when any bonus packages come out its only fair ea.since u can't do ur updates right.and a free base game
I tried installing the earlier version but it just says that it couldn't open Origin unless it was fully updated. I've spend hours trying to figure out what to do, and it's not the first time that a Origin update messed up so I couldn't play.

No, it does not. Another guy here with Win 8 with updates who tried reinstalling the game/origin/and the vcredist 64/86 and did not work. Really "fun" to pay for premium access and a couple of hours afterwards have errors spam all over the desktop and not be able to start bf1 or origin since the last update.. Any help/fix on this issue anytime soon? People payed money.
Having THE SAME PROBLEM! Talked to ea tech said to contact Microsoft... :-/ I just wanna play the SIMS!!! Everything was fine until the update! Im running windows 7 and everything is up to date.

If you have Windows 7 make sure it's patched SP1,fully update (very important) and download / Install this Visual C++ Redistributable: (and it could also work for windows 8 and 8.1🤔)
For Windows 64-bit
Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2017 (64-bit)
For Windows 32-bit
Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2017 (32-bit)
Maybe you need to restart your machine after installing it.

Windows updates not my issue. My system is always kept up to date, to include last Tuesdays. I have issues with Origin's newest update and so I am continuing to use the previous version of Origin. For me the problem was the system freezing and Origin crashing. I couldn't even get to the point where I could change settings to see if changing the zoom would work, thought on the client I am using now, it is set to system. With the previous Origin everything is working just fine. Really need to stop the rapid updating of Origin. We don't need every "feature" in the book. We just need to have access to our games.
