Re: Failed refund

Hey @Myst965 due to the current world climate there are some restrictions on contacting our live support.

For any billing-related issues you will need to speak with one of our chat support advisers who will be able to advise you further.

You can contact our live support at help.ea.com.

To  speak with a chat adviser:

Click on your product Origin

Then select 'PC

Manage my Account'

Can't log in

Finally, you can choose to begin a chat.

You can also speak with our Twitter support team: https://twitter.com/EAHelp?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Eauthor

  • Hi,

I have the same problem I cannot get any answer from contact support. The chat option says "Sorry, No Channels are Available."

Five days later and no contact and no money. I tried throughout the week to get in touch with one of so called advisors, but having waited an hour on average just gave up. Looks like they all got sick, so just started a case with PayPal. I have never had a problem with games and refunds on Steam, so will try to avoid buying anything via Origin in the future.

  • Quick update.

My refund has been processed by PayPal, as EA was unable to do it. As a result EA has closed my account on violation of T&Cs.

    Feel warned everyone.

    Good luck.

Hey @Myst965 if you issue a chargeback then you risk losing access to your account.

You can appeal the ban with our TOS team.

The process to contact our ToS team can be found here: https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/account/information-about-banned-or-suspended-accounts/

    1. Click Contact us at the top of any page on EA Help.
    2. Select the game that your account was banned or suspended from. If it’s on your whole EA Account, choose Origin.
    3. Choose your platform.
    4. Select Manage my account, then Banned or suspended account.
    5. Fill out any other details below.
      • For example, if you picked Origin, it might ask you if you are accessing the game through an Origin Access membership.
    6. Click Select contact option.
    7. Sign in to your account that has the ban or suspension, if you aren’t already.

    Hi @EA_Darko

Thanks for your reply, I already have escalated this to TOS team, but to be honest I am not very hopeful this will get resolved in my favour, given how EA treats players.

As mentioned at the beginning of this topic it was the EA, who failed to return my money breaching its own T&Cs and I was in my full rights to try to get them back by other means. I was also told to escalate it through PayPal, who handled the transaction, by EA's own customer support.

I can only hope other players will start spending their money elsewhere, I'm sure I will.

    Best regards,

Hey @Myst965 we cannot comment on any TOS issue. All I can suggest is that you wait for the team to look into your case and respond.

    Darko

  • EA_Darko,

This has just happened to me also (As I type this I am in discussion with the @EAHelp Twitter support staff to try and resolve)

You're a Community Manager....you represent EA to the public on these forums and should have some understanding of the inner workings of EA as an organisation, thus I'll ask a question if I may....How can it be against EA's own TOS for a customer to request a refund , not have it processed successfully by EA's own payment systems and then have their account CLOSED for having to resort to receiving that refund via the payment facilitator, i.e Paypal?

I waited four weeks for EA to process my refund and then respond to my Paypal case....they did NOTHING.  Paypal found in my favour because of this lack of response.  To have my EA account closed under the pretext of violating EA's TOS is (enter expletive here)!

You're reply to the earlier posters question -  'we can't comment on any TOS issue' is just an excuse to ignore the issue......which is all EA have done to the OP, myself and probably many others.

I realise I'm throwing the slop bucket into the wind with this post but go ahead and suprise me....I dare you....in fact I DOUBLE dare you.....do something to help me and others!

So it has been a week now and no contact from anyone at EA, despite 72h turnaround time. I am also unable to progress my case, as there is no option now to speak to an advisor. Looks like when your account is banned, they refuse to speak to you as well.

    @Sinistercr0c

I'm afraid Darko is right, he likely has no means to speak to anyone at ToS.
