Re: Sims 4 needs updating but origin keeps closing out when I try?

@RealCheekyNana  In both Windows and macOS, your saves and other user data are stored in Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4.  If you move or copy that folder elsewhere, you can put it back after reinstalling the game.  It's not supposed to get deleted when you uninstall anyway, but sometimes it happens.

It's worth clearing Origin's cache (Windows) or running the Origin reset tool (macOS) first though, since it might help and is a lot faster than uninstalling and reinstalling Sims 4.

And try to update from within Origin, as in, open your Origin game library, right-click (or hold the crtl key and click on a Mac) on the Sims 4 icon, and select Update.  If it still doesn't work, right-click and Repair first, quit Origin, clear Origin's cache or reset it, restart the computer, and try to update again.
