Really strange it's throwing you into some random player's lobby. Are they sending an invite to you or were these random players you previously played with?

So my friend would send me an invite to join a his lobby and it would send me into some other random persons lobby. I tried to talk to the random person but it seemed like they were AFK. I hadn't played with them before from what I know of, it would just be a random person and it would only happen on occasion
