Only modification to default settings of AMD card was/is to turn ON Radeon Boost. I haven't even mentioned Thermal Issues yet. There will be no chance to overclock this card and play Apex Legends.
Before it broke completely i noticed that i couldn't use Boost and the in-game frame target setting together. It had to be one or the other. Then, Boost stopped working altogether!
The in-game frame target setting essentially tries to do the same thing, i think??
I went back and forth with AMD and EA on this for weeks and their final answer was that Apex is not "yet" an officially supported Radeon Boost product but to check back with future driver releases. Thing is, it was working just fine on my Rx 560 in season 4 until just a few weeks ago!? I figured it was amd that dropped support for either my old graphics card, or dropping the Radeon Boost idea all together, or perhaps it was EA's new season of apex with it's round of Game Engine updates and patches?? who knows, all i know is it doesn't work anymore and the game is basically unplayable at 1080p LOWEST settings on an Rx 560 without Boost enabled (35fps is like watching a slideshow). You'd think EA would try to hang on to every last Apex player they can right now but i guess this is why player numbers are in massive decline? just a general lack of foresight... imo. but on the bright side at least we buy new skins, right? putting the cart before the horse. Why not try to cater to the 95% of older hardware by making the game use less resources instead of trying to please the 5% of people that meet the minimum hardware specs? its as simple as looking at the steam hardware survey! Rant over, good luck man :-)
