Have you checked your PlayStation privacy settings to make sure they're set to allow invites and friend requests? For more information on how to adjust these settings check out the PlayStation Support website.

for me they are on ps4 while i am on pc
I’m having the same issue, playing with an xbox friend, I’m on pc. Everytime we log in we have to delete and add ourselves over and over
I’m having the same problem but through switch.
I use switch. And my friends use PS4.
We already checked privacy settings and cross play settings.
