I think this is a fair compromise for keeping Flex Moments in while bringing back the old animation styles. Keeping these moments tied to the biggest goal of the game is the proper use of this function. I appreciate the team listening to the community on this
I only have the trial version, but the patch really improves this, thanks for listening to the feedback.
Even when you forget to use a standard celebration, the flex moment takes longer to kick in so is nowhere nearly as jarring and the lighting is much more realistic. Good improvements.
I quite enjoyed my hour or so in Play Now, the icon passing is improved too, and the game does sound great if a little repetitive on a few select songs.
If offline could get a sleeker, smaller scorebug, something in the top left that could combine the pressure meter info into it e.g your team abbreviation backdrop goes red or whatever, then I'd look again.
I've been vocal about offline dying, but if 25 could add some seasonal elements to the hud display and more TV style overlays ( player focus, point streaks, etc...) just to break up the sameyness of the arenas and the 82 game regular season then that would give it a real boost.
With all due respect, it's not what I call adressed.
I avoided NHL 24 since lunch just because of these new celebrations. I saw this post today and was glad it was fixed. However, you have almost no time to enable the regular celebration. As soon as you score, you need to press the button, you don't even seems to have 1 second to do so. What the point of this patch then? We are still forced to get this horrible immersion breaking celebration most of the time because you need to be Flash McQueen in order to avoid the new style celebration.
Why not :
1. Give us the ability to turn on or off this feature? The lack of visual customization is crazy in this game. Let everyone find what they want too. Let the online people have the sort and accelerated gameplay, and let the offline people that cares about the immersion have the full length presentation and celebration.
2. At least make the celebration at least 5 seconds longer so we are able to press the button to enable a classic celebration.
That's horrible and completely breaks the experience for a lot of people.
No NHL 24 until it fixed and there won't be a NHL 25 for me too if it's still the same. I really can't believe the direction this game is taking. I'm trying to be as constructive as I can while expression my disappointment but it's hard at this point.
