Re: How do elbowing and cross checking penalties function?

Hello, @drtydaddydevito

These will be called randomly when taking a penalty for charging. You will either get charging, elbowing or cross-checking.

  • @EA_Aljo are you sure about this with crosschecks? I have gotten them standing completely still however i was interfering with the other player so perhaps they are also called in place of interference.

That's the way it previously worked so I dug in to this deeper and found out that you can take crosschecking penalties when using spamming shoves. So, put some more time between shoves and you shouldn't take them.

Also, higher discipline will help take less elbowing pens when charging. If you have low discipline, your chances of taking an elbowing call are higher.

  • @EA_Aljo By the way, charging is 100% broken in this game. It was always a crapshoot, as 90% of the time in the actual National Hockey League the only time charging gets called is when someone leaves their feet in order to hit someone. In previous years, even a small gallop of 4-5 sprinted strides could yield a charge. In the current year, you can sprint for 10 strides, begin to glide so you can make a 90-degree cut, then a second or two later when you hit someone you will still get called for a charge. I've even sprinted straight "up", then came to a complete stop before skating straight "down" and hitting someone after only taking a couple strides aaaand... *whistle* CHARGING!

    Terrible.
