I have this problem since season 7 dropped. So, like two hours ago I tried to find some kind of solution. I experimented with like everything and I found that if you turn off Windows Sonic on Win 10, that echoing sound is gone (with 7.1 enabled in game), however game sound is flat like highway. Then I tried run Apex with command for stereo only (+miles_channels 2) and turn on Windows Sonic (spatial sound) and game is kinda in surround. I think that it sounds better than stereo only, but it is NOT surround. I don´t know if it´s going to work for everybody, but if you want to try this "half solution" you can.
Razer Kraken for console (2019) btw.

Just tested it out, can confirm, still completely broken. At >2 channels, all audio gets routed to center.

Really, are the developers deaf? I do not understand.
Confirmed still broken in Season 10. Can basically assume this is never going to be fixed at this point. It's headphones or get * in Apex from here on out it seems.
